How do we not already have a thread for this? I know the film came out a while ago, but I finally caught it on Netflix and damn, what a solid thriller it was.

If you haven't seen this I'd definitely recommend it.

This film does a fabulous job of building tension.  Loved it as well.

The scenes in Ciudad Juarez were completely legit and well-done. The rest of the movie was entertaining as well.

Yeah, pretty well filmed but I have to say I found the story a bit flat. Didn't really need a 2 hour film to tell me that the CIA are evil bastards.

Solely responsible for the thread on "The Condom Wall."

It felt like a poor mans Traffic with more action, sort of.

Watching The Bridge before adds a lot to Ciudad "feeling".

Watched this today (and yes I am bumping lots of old shit, I am watching movies to distract myself from the shitshow of the current universe, wanna fight about it?).

Really good flick. Ya, the story is pretty "flat" but the tension and execution are great. I like that the main protagonist is basically just a bureaucratic necessity that contributes nothing to the narrative other than being frustrated and serving as (coerced) legal cover. Del Toro is great as usual. I pretended this was basically his character from Traffic after lots of shit had gone down.
