I've been playing it for about a week now and have just gotten my Rogue up to level 10 and a few other characters a little bit behind that.  So far the two bugs I have encountered that annoy me the most are invisible under the world unattackable mobs that beat you down until you run away (if your lucky) and loot bugs that force you to log out to recover (I won't even mention all the server down time messages I have seen).

Thats all.  I just wanted to bitch.

I guess it is just luck of the draw - which makes the problem harder to track.

Two avatars at level 13 - I've not experienced any bugs.

The only place I've run across the under the world mob problems is in the barrens with kolkar stormers. It's annoying as hell but not widespread from what I've seen.

Well add the Echo Isles to your list.  I had it happen with the troll dudes and the velociraptor thingies.

I have occasionally got hit by Mobs-Underground in 1k needles too (fairly nasty when it happens to be one of those Lightning spitting winged snakes).

I have also been hit by Mobs-in-trees as well, which occasionally gets annoying.

Also fell to my death for the first time while Blinking near the elite dragon cave in Winterspring.

Still, even with all the bugs, its some of the most fun I have had in ages.

My gripe is with the constant disconnections.  I'm lucky if I can stay logged on for longer than 5 minutes today.  I usually get disconnected in under 1 minute.

I haven't seen the mob under the world thing since the Barrens.

Constant disconnects?  Really, that's probably your end or something between you and the server went tits up.

Only thing I've come in contact with recently is a mob getting bugged on stairs in BRS and becoming unhittable.  Unfucked itself in about 10-20 seconds though.

Disconnects are happening to enough people I think it's more likely something fucked up with Blizzard's hosting company rather than a local problem. I know a half a dozed people who were fine until the day before they took all those servers down to "upgrade the hardware" and have been dropping a ton since. I've had problems with absurdly high ping in instances, though it's usually normal outside.

I got disconnected repeatedly a while ago, but it was because my modem was losing packets.  Apparently they need to be turned off, left off for 5 minutes, and turned back on to "resynchronize", according to the tech support guy.  Did that and it fixed the problem, for 3 months or so, then it happened again.  Apparently it's recurring.

Is it just me or have their forums not worked for the last 3 days?  The top non-sticky post in any forum is from 3/10.

I've had 5 crashes (I counted the dumpfiles in my Errors subfolder).  The first one is from 11/30.  I can't remember if that was beta or not.

Of course, as this thread is enough to attest, YMMV.  That's the problem with PC software - you never know what combo of hardware/software is going to be crashy.

I haven't had any connection issues, but I have a friend who has had some serious ones.  So mileage varies on that one too I suppose.

Witty banter not included.

Disconnect problem may also be due to your router....a lot of people need to do port forwarding or somesuch magic before they have constant connections. I think I did.

It seems to have more to do with peak times.  After about 1 AM, it stopped happening.

ER's population has exploded from being one of the most stable servers.  A lot of players have migrated there that otherwise wouldn't have.

That's interesting.  Sometimes when it happens, I lose my network connection completely (I have cable) and have to shut the modem and router down.  I haven't been waiting five minutes to turn them back on, though.  Maybe that will help.

This is the second time this has happened.  Both times were after they had to take down a very large number of servers for emergency maintenance.

They are upgrading the hardware for a number of servers and this for some inexplicible reason means they had to disable forum logins:

If you are having client crashes, I must ask you... is your CPU or graphics card overclocked? When I first got the game, I was running an OC'ed AMD 1.2 Ghz (clocked to a 1.33 Ghz). I would get crashes all the fucking time. My sound would start stuttering and the whole computer would need a fucking reboot. It was awful. I thought it was just my Sound Blaster Live futzing with my AMD VIA motherboard, but buying a new soundcard didn't fix it. I finally took off the overclocking and the problem went away. I did not have that kind of problem in City of Heroes or any other game. But for some reason, I think WoW just hates overclocking.

I've only had one client crash since I started playing a month ago.  What I get is, "You have been disconnected from the server" messages, and returned to the log in screen.  This happens most frequently when speaking to quest NPCs.

i'm playing on wireless so disconnects aren't an unknown occurence for me.  Oddly enough, I've yet to have a single disco during a large raid.

My friend was having major disconnect problems a while ago, like every 30 minutes. He added some line of code to the end of his WTF file, and it totally fixed it. The line was like: SET SoundHardware=0

Now, that is not the exact line, but maybe that will help some of you in your search.

My disconnects have been happening more frequently now.

Before I would just shrug and log back in. Now I shrug, log back in, and notice a 3-5 minute rollback. And my some of my quests are either un-completed or missing. So yeah... must be my router.

I blaim it on WoW.  Formerly it would disconnect me from the network completely, and I had to restart my equipment.  Now I just need to wait two minutes for the character to time-out (to avoid that stupid "a character by that name already exist in the world" error.

About 90% of my disconnections occur while in a quest dialog with NPCs.

Getting back to the topic of bugs, I am getting sick of the looting bug that requires you to log out, and the buggy mage spell that sometimes don't cause any damage (I think it is called Magic Missiles or something).

Arcane Missiles. They claim to have fixed it a couple of different times, but it is still fucked up as of my last playing session with my mage (got through Shadowfang Keep- Arugal's robe FTW).

I hate that.  It screams placeholder code that no one has time to go back and fix.  Most other MMOGs all the way back to diku let anyone with valid credentials bump off their zombie sessions.

The looting bug only happens to me now when looting certain bugged mineral deposits.

And if you just attack the darkness, yeah, it won't do damage.

The connections are worse today then they have ever been.  I get disconnected immediately after logging in.  Fucking game, I'm starting to get disgusted.

I checked the forums and found that I'm far from the only person to have this problem.  Too bad they broke their forums.  By the way, what the fuck is Blizzard doing over there?

My servers are perfectly fine... and I am so glad I moved due to this before. I think some 20 servers have been totally fucked for about a week from the looks of it.

ER was fine until about a week ago.  There's been a mass exodus from less reliable servers, and the pop on ER has totally exploded.  Whether bliz broke it recently, or its problems didn't manifest until its population was comperable to the other servers, I don't know.  All I know is it's fucked and they seem to be incapable of fixing it.  When it's even worse now than it was a week ago -- when they implemented their "fix" -- my confidence in them is rapidly tanking.

I'll bet anything this is the REAL reason they disabled their forums.

Well, you might want to look now :  Huge problem on the login servers in Europe.  Kiddies going mental on the forums and, more importanly, I can't play at the moment due to it.

Which may mean I'll have to work.

As luck will have it, the forum login server is already down again.  Whether this was done on purpose, or they just can't get their shit together, I don't know.  It looks suspicious, though.

I tested my connection during lunch and it managed to stay connected.  Too bad I have to wait until Saturday before I have time to play again, which was a major source of my frusteration last night.

It seems that when a server goes to shit, the others  follow one by one like falling dominos, as displaced players log into alt servers and cause them to get over-populated.

It'd be really interesting in a train wreck sort of way if WoW got _so_ popular that even accumulated frustration couldn't stop people from pouring into alternate servers and eventually shutting down every server running the game.

Apparently one of the fucked servers is Doomhammer.  So, the brain surgeons on that server all made alts on Shadowsong.  Alliance too, as if we needed more of them.  They also run aroun pvp zerging different areas with very low level alts, primarily all gnome females.  Why does every joke zerg entity have to be gnome females?

I don't think this helps our server, but it sure isn't hurting it.  We're still very stable and pings are keeping decent for the most part.  What will really suck is if they stay.  I'm glad our alliance counterparts hadn't realized what a strategical advantage gnomes are, since most of them are too busy petting King Gay their trusty white tiger companion.   Those little buggers are so hard to see.   An army of them is a damn targetting nightmare.
