Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

Bummer. Such a nice guy and embodied rock and roll.

I guess you could say he was....killed by death.

Died playing his favorite video game two days after getting the cancer diagnosis. If ya gotta go to it, best for it to be quick.

Rock on in Valhalla, Lemmy.

I met Lemmy twice. Once at a working mens' club in Nottingham where they'd just played a free gig before settling down at a table to drink. The first time in Yorkshire where we were trying to fix a friend's motorcycle when Lemmy walked past and told us what the problem was. Surreal but cool, we were far too much in awe to say anything until after he'd gone.

I think Scott Ian said it best: "He was Motorhead, and HE PLAYED ROCK AND ROLL!"

I wish this thread had Lemmy's or Motorhead's name in the subject line because I have never heard of Hawkwind.  I'm old but not that old.

I think I can safely say something that Lemmy would agree with me on.

Fuck you, cancer. Just fuck you.

I saw an interview with him one time where he said he started singing  "The Eight of Spades!" as a joke for a while, but gave up on it when he found out that even the Band hadn't noticed.

RIP. Seemed like a nice guy whenever I saw him on an interview.

The band was playing a completely different song and he went with the Ace of Spades lyrics for a verse and a half before quitting.
