On ABC this Fall.

God yes.

I started watching the trailer, thinking that the only way it could be funnier is if they made fun of the entire concept.

Then Gonzo made fun of the entire concept.

Cannot wait.

My only disappointment is that awful, awful, awful Rowlf voice. Rowlf was one of my favorites and that didn't sound like Bill Barretta at all. (Who has voiced Rowlf since Jim died.)

I have heard that Frank Oz retired from voice acting so I am sure a lot of the other voices are going to sound "off". I think I will have more trouble with that than I did with Henson's characters as (with the exception of Ms Piggy) Frank Oz voiced most of my favorite characters.

Yeah, IDK what's up. Maybe he was ill that day or mentally stuck in another voice. That didn't sound like Rowlf, there was none of the low-end gravel to it. Too much Pepe that day, maybe. Here's "From The Balcony" for comparison.

It's a nitpick, to be sure, but it's always one of those things that stands out: when muppets that don't sound right.

Muppets are timeless. Voice actors are not. There is some of the same drift in the Simpsons, but not to this extent.

I have no interest in The Muppets and am confused by all the excitement. Yes, I did watch them as a kid and they should have stayed in the 70s.

I have never played WoW.

Sadly, I'm hearing that it is thinner on laughs than the previews indicated.  However, I hear the pilot is the weakest of the early episodes.

Yeah.... The "30 Rock meets The Office" gimmick seemed a little forced, but I guess it is as close as they can get to the "Variety Show" gimmick of the original.

Needs more silly shtick, less plot. I don't want to see Kermit resolving his midlife crisis, I want more one liners. They had some good bits, padded out with drama I don't need in a puppet show. The jokes are supposed to be lame, giving us time to think about how lame they were while Fozzy plays "Guess who's coming to dinner" from the alternate universe where Poitier's part was played by Woody Allen in a fur suit, doesn't make them funnier.

It was hit and miss throughout the show, and being better than most shit on TV atm I'll at least give it a few more episodes.
