How is there not a thread for this fucking show yet?  The second season just released.

Trailer

I resisted watching this show for months while Netflix kept putting it in my "Recommended For You" section, because I felt like Netflix was saying I liked stupid hipster cartoon bullshit and I was like fuck you Netflix, you don't know me.  This looks stupid.

But, um, it's pretty amazing.  Don't let the anthropomorphic animals fool you.  It's very... real.  Uncomfortably so at times.  Give it a couple of episodes; it took me about that long to get my head around what it's trying to do.

Fantastic. I'll be sitting down with a bottle of something and binge-watching the fuck out of that sometime soon then.

This show remains consistently entertaining.

So, two things I want to comment on, now that I know other people are watching this:

1) I love how the opening credits are a subtle-but-not-really Graduate reference, all the way down to the pool shot.

2) "The Shot" is one of my all time favorite episodes of any show ever, primarily because of the eponymous scene.  This whole season is full of wonderful character moments but that's my favorite one.

New season is up and so far it might be the best so far. The underwater episode might be in my top five animated works.

I agree, that underwater episode was amazing.  Loved the season, binged it in one night.  Who needs sleep?

In case you're not getting enough nihilism in your life from Rick and Morty, this is starting up again in two weeks. I am so excited.

I'm a little late to the party on season 4, but.  Wow.  I just finished episode 11, the one about Bojack's mother.  Might be my new favorite episode of the series.

(edit) And done binging.  That shot at the end of the last episode.  Jesus.  I might have gotten a little teary.

The one with Bojack's mother was probably the standout of this season, but the whole thing was great, though frequently felt a lot like being emotionally mugged, even more so than previous seasons.

I was able to download the whole thing to my phone before a plane ride and binge it in the air.   DRILLING AND MANLINESS

Pretty good overall; I don't think it stuck the landing as well as it could have, but there were a lot of really great moments and the "dinner party" episode is maybe my favorite of the series now.

Wow. I thought the ending was perfect!

I thought it highlighted how imperfect our lives are, and how we expect our lives to be one thing but actually become something else. Except for BoJack, who might be wiser but will it really matter to him? He learns the lessons but never applies it.

This might be my favorite show of last decade, and that’s putting it right in there with Breaking Bad.

I thought it was perfect too, Bojack got the ending he deserved. I would have been on board for a more redemptive arc if it wasn't for that 17 minutes revelation, that was brutal.
