So, I was thinking of getting this since the concept of terrorists vs. police in a destructable environment seems like could be fun with the added twist of being able to blow up walls, floors and ceilings to get at your enemy. And then I saw the price. $80 CDN. For regular edition. $120 for the gold edition. Fuck you Ubisoft. You can take your overpriced, DRM infested shit and shove it. http://store.steampowered.com/app/359550/

Just play Counter Strike. Sure, you can' t destroy the levels, but I'm 100% sure the gameplay is better without ever having even seen a gameplay video of Siege.

Huge Rainbow fan. Too burnt by Ubi. Regional pricing in Aus is even worse, so I'm waiting for sales even though I'd love to get my hands on this day 1.

The description says it includes planning. Is this a real rainbow 6 game or one of the more recent designed-for-console 3rd person shooters?

The last shootie games from Ubisoft I tried were the pinnacle of patience-testing wank so I'm going to pass, even though this might be more like the old Rainbow Six games.

It's a direct result of the Canadian dollar tanking. Every game is $75-80 new.

Is this the fast paced counter-strike style multiplayer I saw videos of a while back.
If so, it definitely looked as opposite of Rainbow 6 as it could be, and if the multiplayer runs like that I doubt the singleplayer is going to be the nice slow tactical pace it used to be.

Your comparison is to two games released in March and May respectively, which was before the MSRP hike. Black Ops 3? 79.99. Every AAA EA game? 79.99. Ubi isn't some anomaly.

Not sure what you folks are seeing but in the US it's not out for another 2+ months.
And come on, arguing about the difference between $70 and $80 isn't really about the price at that point. You've got a separate bone to pick, and that's totally fine. But it's not like the price tipped you from impulse-buy into no-fucking-way land all by itself.

The Fallout 4 and the next Hitman are both $69.99 and Just Cause 3 is $66.49. If those publishers can price their AAA games under $79.99 then so can Ubi and EA.

No, you're right. I wasn't buying it at release anyway. I refuse to buy Ubisoft games unless I can get them for dirt cheap. Besides, the only upcoming game I might be willing to pay full price for is Fallout 4. I'm still waiting for GTA 5 to drop in price. If I'm going to be overcharged for a game, I might as well be playing it on a console.
