what bullshit trash did nintendo announce?

super mario we have no good ideas left?

Nintendo just released an AAA game where children turn into squids and shoot paint at each other, so let's make fun of them for making another Mario game.

so

let's be sane here

Shenmue 3 belongs on Kickstarter

It is not the crime charging for Skyrim mods was

It belongs on there in that it comes from a guy who hasn't made a good game in at least a couple decades. Sega sure as hell isn't go to throw money at Yu Suzuki to make this game (they already got burned with that once trying to do Shenmue Online).

I'd maybe support a Space Harrier remake, but personally I thought Shenmue was dull as shit. Mostly I just think announcing a Kickstarter at Sony's E3 press conference was maybe a bit wrong.

What part about that is appealing or worth throwing AAA money at?

Velorath, I am with you, Shenmue is trash. The most overrated trash ever.

Just read that the Elite controller MS announced is going to be $150. Wasn't going to buy one anyway, but fuck that.

That's about on par with other 'pro gaming' controllers like SCUF's products.  I'll probably bite once it becomes available, since I can spend AmEx points on Amazon.  I have a hard time figuring out what the flat disc d-pad will be good for, tho.

I was waffling on spending $250 on a custom Ducky Shine 4 with laser printed keys and here you are talking about spending $150 on a fucking controller.

Fair enough - mostly, I just want the back side buttons/levers and sturdier/adjustable internals.

sorry twee pixel-art indie people, your game about lesbian eskimos will have to wait
As someone who has been pretty active on KS over the last few years and knows a bunch of very small (single person) businesses that primarily release new stuff funded by KS...the system is fine. The lesbian eskimos are not going unfunded because Sonysoft decides to utilize the most visible crowdfunding platform.

In fact, I'd say the wads of cash the big project push through KS/Stripe is helping a lot of smaller projects piggyback on improvements to the backend.

And complaining about it being a pre-order store is lulz, bro. Don't like it, don't pledge. Plenty of folks getting some sweet shwag with the 'pre-order' style projects (Zombicide, for instance)

No, so I'm not sure what sucks means. I think I'm the only ex-Model M user that even likes the Das Keyboard. Possibly in the world.

Suck in the case of the Ducky Shine is the horizontal "stabilizer" bars they use in their larger keys have a teeny tiny sweet spots.

I'm only really interested in Fallout 4 so far since I've pretty much given up on being excited about anything that isn't being released this year.  Ohhhhh, I see.

I thought Fallout 4, Uncharted, Unravel, Doom all looked great.  I had low expectations for Doom but I'm very very happy they aren't going the horror route and going back to the original roots.

Eye of the storm - Mad Max looks like it has potential.

Horizon looked meh.  No Man's Sky again gave an impressive demo and yet still fails to explain if it has any actual gameplay at all.

I really want to play X-Com 2 with the Hololens on my kitchen island.  That would be so fucking awesome.

That's about what I got from E3.

Basically nothing new at the SquareEnix presser. Given Sony got the FF7 trailer, if there was another big reveal, I missed it.

If you excuse me I'm going to watch more Fallout 4 footage now.

Nope, that was it.

Also, WTF is Nintendo even doing anymore?

Nintendo seems quite content to sit at the kids table... and keep towing that anime line. They didn't even have a presentation - they literally put on a puppet show and uploaded it to a server to show on screens.

the doom 4 trailer should have just been absolute pure carnage then suddenly the marine stops, looks at a health pack on the floor, there's a quiet pause, he squints at it, turns around, walks into it backwards, gibs the thing that appeared right the direction he was facing, then he flips back around forwards and the rock music re-engages and it's carnage again until the close title

Who else is doing it? Seems like they are filling a space in the market.

When it is the only thing they are releasing between Smash Brothers, Mario party, and games for the DS, it's pretty much the only thing they are throwing money at. It's a shooter for kids. Great for parents who don't want to buy violent games for their young ones.

The problem is that they're starting to fail at even the staple stuff we come to know as high quality stuff. The latest Mario Party, while adding a fun Bowser mode with the Wii U Pad, has been watered down to practically nothing in terms of skillful play and interaction. Everything seems to be all about Amiibos and cheesy one-trick ponies, with the occasional smash hit.

They may have the monopoly on low-budget, kid friendly stuffs, but even kids reach a point where they can tell the difference between good and bad quality game play.

Um, No? Bumper Balls doesn't need to be Mortal Combat X to have some fun player determination. I am told the new mini-games often come down to little more than rolls of the die.

Splatoon has gotten pretty good reviews. Mario Kart 8 and the Wii U Smash Bros. are both thought to be some of the best entries in the series. Not sure I see Nintendo failing all that much game-wise.
