If nothing else, the marketing and advertising for It Follows harkens back to the last time horror films actually had the capacity to actually scare you rather than gross you out with gratuitous violence and gore. The movie itself is almost Lovecraftian in its restraint and appreciation for the value of the scare in your head rather than the one explicitly shown to you. Solid film all the way around.

Also, Maika Monroe is hawt.

I saw the TV trailer for this the other day and kind of shrugged it off. Horror movies have almost become a dead genre of stumbling from one trend to the next with the occasional gem. This is in theaters right?

I'm hoping to see it soon--people I know who've seen it, both horror fans and folks who don't like horror much, were really impressed with it.

You call it an accident. I call it justice.

As long as it is a departure from the torture porn trend, I'll give it an honest watch. I miss suspenseful horror movies.

The trailer made it looks somewhat intriguing and then when I saw it was rated R my thought was "so this might actually be a real horror movie this time and it's not found footage!"

Just saw this.  Interesting movie in the whole way it was presented.  Very tense throughout the whole thing, if not actually really scary.  I can see why it's getting rave reviews, though I'm not sure I'm really that big of a fan.  Plot was totally nonsensical, but a sound plot wasn't the purpose of the movie.

Worth giving a shot to see if you like it.
