Cruise's charisma and daredevilry still strong, but he's starting to look his age.

I would like to see Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. in a film together.

I know this is not a very original line of criticism.... but my fundamental issue with these films is that they are nothing like Mission Impossible, which was awesome, so I just watch them thinking "Hey remember Mission Impossible? That was awesome.".

If they were called "Tom Cruise Secret Agent Kung Fu Cool Guy Film", I’d probably enjoy them more.

Yeah they got way too James Bondy but in a bad way. Like the Roger Moore Bonds.

I took my 9 year old son to this on Saturday. Great iteration of the series but not quite as good as Ghost Protocol which I view as the best one. Rebecca Ferguson rocked. Simon Pegg was excellent. Opening scene (spoiled by the trailers, unfortunately) would rival most Bond openings. Barely PG 13 if you are thinking of bringing kids. One cold blooded execution killing and a good knife fight, but the rest of the action was bloodless.

My son chose this over Ant Man.

It's dumb fun with a plot that completely falls apart if you spend any time thinking about it.

I'd say that 99% of action movies could be summarized with the line of 'dumb fun that falls apart if you think about it'

A lot of them miss the fun part. This movie has a good cast, the action is fairly well filmed, and the stunt work from Cruise is impressive. Contrast that with something like Transformers which has a cast I actively dislike, action scenes where you can't tell what's going on, and a plot that doesn't even work while you're watching it, let alone thinking about it afterwards.

This was fun, not quite as good as Ghost Protocol but fun. What I found slightly remarkable is how much Tom Cruise doesn't speak in the film, seemed to do all his acting via facial expressions.

Also Rebecca Ferguson. YES YES YES PLEASE.

I think the ending for this one was the best of the bunch, and a clever film in general.  Overall, probably the 2nd best of the lot with Ghost Protocol probably tied with the first.
Ferguson is my favorite heroine of the series.  Hollywood needs to portray more women roles like her.
