Round one is over, some unexpected upsets and some bruising encounters. Time for the semis. Four teams enter, two teams leave.

Here are the quarterfinal results.

And here are the semifinal fixtures.

Please play these matches by Wednesday 19th November.

I don't see me getting past the rampant Vemin. They are missing a few players due to injury but nothing critical (Cheddar Persille lives yet!) and nowhere near as many as I will have going into this match. Unless Cheddar kills himself on a GfI, I have no idea how to stop him from doing his thing.

The Chaos v Nurgle match should be a thriller though. While Bleating are the more developed team, the Lovers have come a long way in a short time. Will it be enough to break through the pestilent defence? We shall see.

This doesn't seem like the correct pairings...

Bloodbowl knockouts always match winner 1 against winner 2, 3 against 4 according to the order shown on the fixture list.

So where a.b is the player who finished div a in position b, semi finals are...

Winner of 1.1 vs 2.4 VS Winner of 1.2 vs 2.3
and
Winner of 1.3 vs 2.2 VS Winner of 1.4 vs 2.1

Um why is the semi between 1 & 2 from the same div? Doesn't seem right...

It should always be that if the two division winners win all their games they meet in the final, but also that if the first and second from their own division win they meet in the final.

I have no idea why it isn't arranged like this.

Cyanide's league management is pretty shit.  Setting up matches like that isn't possible as far as I know.  I think you'd need to start the league over again with just those four teams to seed the matches.  Which isn't a bad idea, I'm just saying that's the only way to do it.

Ding, ding! We have a winner. It took a lot of wrangling to make sure the first round of draws were correct. I have no idea how to make them fall out in the correct order after that. It is also not possible to change the seeding once any games have been played in the entire tournament.

So Avaia and I are forced to bash each other to death, while one of the other two limps in to the final?

You aren't *forced* to do anything. You can decide not to play and I'll flip a coin and award a default win if you prefer.

Iain, have a fairly busy week, tomorrow evening reasonably late, or Saturday morning look best for me, Sunday evening could possibly work.

Fursecution and Ermine Vermin have 50 TDs between them this season, so if we're going to beat out the 11 TD in one match record - this is the one to do it!

Avaia let me know when suits you. I've got a few things going on over the weekend, but will try and make the time if (as is likely) that's when we need to do it.

Ermine Vermin | 4 - 3 | Fursecution

Second half in particular got a bit crazy, and Nuffle is clearly getting bored of Cheddar given the number of blitzes and Perfect Defences coming up. Happily Nuffle also had no time for Fursecution dodgy bullshit today, second half had some number of turnovers.

Only two of the Vermin's TDs came from Cheddar running it in from the kick. One came from a Fursecution thrower dropping the ball in his own half, the other was a run down the pitch with a cage (remember those?). It was 3-3 with two turns to go and Cheddar did his thing to make the winner. I did get to foul Cheddar after he failed a GfI in the endzone but I only got a KO and he recovered for the next drive. I also managed to knock him over once when I got a blitz from a kickoff but that time I didn't break armour. I had a couple of chances to take the lead but they ended with failed dodges. Both of us played a very fast game, no blobbing or scrums to speak of.

Not sure what is happening with our game. The one time this last weekend we were both online it was actually avaia's son.

Maybe this weekend?

During the week is probably better for me.  When are you available?  I can make most times happen.

This might be tricky as I'm pretty busy during the week. My only window would really be tonight around 8 hours from now. So about 3:30am your time IIRC...

Otherwise I can probably find some time my Sunday morning your Sat afternoon.

I'm not really available during the week, as the time difference makes my evening the middle of the night, and I can't fit it in before work. So we can try for my sat/sun, avaia's friday/sat night again?
