Got this from MMORPGDot - monthly fee is a little high but I guess thats becoming the standard - I'll still pay it but I was hoping we'd still be in the $12.95 range - oh well - we can blame SWG for that I guess!

I am still trying to figure out why NCSoft insists on launching both L2 and CoH the same day...that just screams "clusterfuck of Biblical proportions" to me.

Tell me about it - considering they use the SAME DAMN PORTAL I don't have good feelings about this at all - I guess since I'll have my characters set up by the 28th it won't matter so much - just wait a few days till its settled down and register then :)  I have to say its a great thing this 3-days-before-release start.

Not to surprised at the cost I think most of the new games coming out are in the 14 to 15 dollar range and hey at least coh gives you a comic book.

This is probably the first MMOG where I think $14.99 is a reasonable price.

Shouldn't the NDA drop be pretty soon too if the gold was just announced?

I am annoyed at not being able to talk more CoH with the damn NDA.  The game has nothing to lose by dropping it.  The thing kicks ass.

From what I was reading on the board the nda is likely to be dropped this week some time but honestly after that one day issue they mentioned on their main site it has been purring along amazingly well.

I'm sure this doesn't break the NDA, since it's been mentioned already by the devs several times (I.E. Enhancements).  Would anyone else be willing to team up with me sometime this week and see if we can puzzle out the actual formula behind them?  I'm thinking we could make a lowbie, have all empty sockets put into one power, and load it up with all of one enhancement, test, and try again with a different enhancement.

Only trouble is, we'd need a lot of influence to buy them all.

Anyone else interested in this?

Have been making oodles of characters to try out the various powers, right now I am not fond of the Dark/Dark Defender.  Got to eighth, but feel like I am not keeping up my end of the bargin.  Re-vamped and went Empathy and lightening and giving it the big thumbs up.

$14.99 seems a good price point.  People have talked about the longevity of the offering, and I can see how that might be a factor, but so far the game is topping out on teh fun.

Am on Pinnacle though.  Anyone know the names of the live servers yet?

On the idea of doing tests to find the real formulas people actually have posted them on the beta boards and it really hurts the nogging to find out how they did it.

There are a lot of exceptions things that go into how enchancers effect a skill.

One thing to note doing the tests at low levels gives you really skewed results due to very tight caps on how far powers can be enhanced at low levels. Those caps raise and raise over time and by the time you hit your 20s you are unlikely to hit your cap even if you put 6 of your best enhancers into one power.

If you really want to try it I would say get at least to upper teens low 20s to get the easiest to interperate results.

Fantastic!  Can you pop me a private message showing me where?  I searched the beta boards but couldn't find that.

Really?  Hmmm now I'm really intrigued.

GAH, Caps, I didn't even think of that.  Is there a post with the listed caps for each level as well?

Nothing is impossible for Captain Catass!

I wonder if that name is taken for retail...

Yeah.  That's the only thing that scares me about launch.  The game is in pretty good shape.  Hopefully, the login won't be screwed.  At least the pre-order folks already have their accounts set up.

Heh, I suggested that name in an earlier thread about CoH on WTO, but I couldn't quite bring myself to use it when I rolled my character.

If you do make Captain Catass, you need to get someone to make you a sidekick named Campy.
