So you may or may not have heard of this game. But you probably own alpha/beta/marketing access for it on PC via Steam. If you bought xcom (EU? EW? not sure) on steam you have access. The game looks kind of cool. One player is the "monster" and the rest are a team of "hunters". It also looks like a game that won't ever make it once its not free for everyone on steam so if you want to try it I suggest trying it now before the hype fades right around when they ask people to spend $50 or whatever to play the game. http://store.steampowered.com/agecheck/app/273350/

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation. -William Gibson

As I said in the other thread... I must say that it's pretty cool, although I totally fail to see the staying power of such a game. Feels more like a party game than anything else, and while I can easily imagine a few fun nights with friends over LAN or TeamSpeak, I can't see myself loggin in after a week or so for some random 4v1 PvP matches. Left 4 Dead, at least to me, had a sense of progression through the episodes/story, and in the map itself (go from point A to B, survive). Unless they do something similar here, which is harder considering the whole thing is about 4 hunters and 1 monster in an arena-like map, I really wonder if such a game was a good idea to begin with.

They want 60 bucks for it when it releases. I will wait for the eventual deep discount and then buy a handful of copies for my small group of friends.

This is 100% going to be sold with a big 5-pack discount. Nevertheless, worth giving it a try now that there's free beta keys left and right to figure out if you'll ever care about it or not before the hype hits.

This. Very much this. This is 100% going to be sold with a big 5-pack discount. Nevertheless, worth giving it a try now that there's free beta keys left and right to figure out if you'll ever care about it or not before the hype hits.
Won't be big enough for me to pay for a 5-pack on release. I'll be waiting for $25 for all 5 or thereabouts. See you in 2017!

I played with it a little bit more and I can't stress enough how underwhelmed I am.

So you're saying don't bother with the hefty download?

$79.99 Aussie... think I'll wait until it hits the basement Steam sale. When I look at what is available for under $30 nowadays. Is this game better than 3 other games I could buy - I doubt it

Hey, my tastes are weird, that's a known fact. But even with a bunch of friends over a lan, we couldn't find the fun. It doesn't help that you can only create a party of 4 (hunters) and engage random monster-players. It makes sense, but takes away the fun you could have from playing with your friends and taking turns with the monster. They'll probably change this in release, but everything else while very well executed still felt quite boring, chaotic, repetitive and short-lived.
As a free to play game it could develop into something cool. As it is now, it feels like a wasted opportunity (much like Titanfall).

Repetitive was my issue as well. This felt more like a really good mod you play sometimes than a stand alone $60 game. Unless some drastic changes were made to really add some significant replay value beyond just additional hunters, monsters and maps I couldn't see myself paying more than $10 for this.

This was my issue too - I have a group of 5 that I routinely game with and we were all seriously thinking about this until we found out that it wouldn't allow us to be all the hunters AND the monster. I guess it makes sense since a lot of people would abuse it to level up, but it definitely took it from a probably buy to a maybe if it's really discounted.

Have you tried the internet? It's made out of millions of people missing the point of everything and then getting angry about it
