Microsoft announces Windows 10, skipping 9 completely.  Looks like they are backpedaling on some of their "One UI to rule them all" philosophy from 8 (it will still be one OS for all platforms, but the UI appears to allow PCs to have a more PC friendly UI and not force a tablet UI on them.)

Also multiple desktops as a standard feature seems like a nice addition.

Does make me wonder though.  If the "every other windows version is crap" trend is really true, does that mean that 10 will be crap, or do they successfully break the cycle by skipping over a version entirely?  7 was good.  8 was a wash.  9 should have been good but they skipped it.  Is 10 going to be crap due to the curse? or does it safely fall into the "good" place 9 was supposed to occupy.
