Only a celebrity if you're a nerd within a specific field, but this guy was one of my EE professors at Cal and was one of the pioneers of self-driving vehicle tech back in the 1990s. Ironically, his death was a result of being hit by a (human-operated) truck.  |

I'm a few days late on this, but Roger Corman died recently at 98 years old. Saw him recently on an episode of "The Last Drive-In" and thought "goddamn, I hope I'm doing that well at his age"; he clearly had a great run, and left quite a legacy.
