Dr. Henry Heimlich just died. Came across local news since he lived around here.

Interesting  note: despite inventing the manuver, he never used it until a few years ago.

Literally came in here to post that the world's most lesser celebrity just kicked it. And then wanted to ask if 2016 would be willing to take every member of the Kardashians.

US actress Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, is in a critical condition after suffering a heart attack during a flight, reports say.

She went into cardiac arrest on the London to LA flight, the LA Times said.

Passengers attempted to revive her with CPR and she was rushed to hospital when the plane landed after midday local time (20:00 GMT), the TMZ website said.

Fisher, 60, had been on tour promoting her latest book The Princess Diarist.

The heart attack happened about 15 minutes before the plane landed in LA, celebrity news website TMZ reported. A medic who was travelling on the plane administered CPR.

A law enforcement official told NBC that her condition was "not good".

United Airlines issued a statement saying that Flight 935 from London to Los Angeles was met on the ground by medical personnel after the crew reported that a passenger was "unresponsive", but did not name the passenger, Reuters reported.

Passengers on the plane have been tweeting about what they saw.

It's 2016, she'll probably expire and take Betty White with her. Shit, this year started out taking Abe Vigoda and has managed to go downhill from there.

That has been retracted and the supposed source for it (the brother) says he never said that. She is in the ICU on a ventilator and it doesn't look particularly good.

Nearly all of the Red Army's Choir (the Alexandrov Ensemble) went down in a plane this morning.

EDIT: Also possible that Dr. Liza, who is one of Russia's top humanitarians, was on board although there are conflicting reports on that.

There had been AIDS rumors for a woman hike hadn't there?  Ever since the pneumonia that almost killed him in 2011.   Sad, he was a good musician.

Technically, no-one ever died from HIV, just the infections it let in. Even if its treated, it can create a lowered immune system that can make it easier for flus and colds to affect you.

But yeah, HIV is pretty much non scary anymore, to the extent they have to run constant programs these days to persuade Gay men to condom up, and quit the anonymous sex shit which is just resulting in a whole load of other stds spreading like wildfire. People are morons.

That's inaccurate and unfair.  I'm going to feel bad for someone passing who did a lot publicly and privately for charity, including for HIV sufferers and their families.

It's "pretty much non scary" as long as you can afford $20-80K/year to pay for just the drugs, for life.
