Mr. Fuji, former wrestler and manager, dead at 82, which sadly is ancient for wrestlers these days.

Jon Polito passed away. He was in a ton of the Coen Brothers movies, but I fondly remember him as Gideon in The Crow. Cancer... sigh.

Phyllis Schlafly died.  Finally.

I had no idea who that was and googled the name. Was rewarded with quotes like:
"Feminism is doomed to failure because it is based on an attempt to repeal and restructure human nature."
"Sex education classes are like in-home sales parties for abortions."

The Lady Chablis, of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil fame, has died at 59.

Supposedly she had been dealing with pneumonia and hospitalized for a month. Speculations of AIDS related death are sure to surface since there had been rumors for a while.

Bobby Vee also died today if anyone near my age cares.  He sang "Take Good Care of My Baby" and filled in for Buddy Holly when his plane went down.

It is times like this that I wish there was an actual afterlife, and that I could witness what a lifetime of being an intolerant shithead is worth on the old Heaven admissions application.

Gary Oldman could get into a car crash killing Brad Pitt, Glenn Close, Morgan Freeman, and 15 other A-lists and we still wouldn't be able to make 2016 worse.

I'm pretty sure the election results are what killed the last two...

 Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

More seriously, although I mourn them both, they succeeded in contributing much to the artistic culture of multiple generations, and had a good long life to boot. But what makes their passing all the more sad is that we may never see their like again.
