Time to ask: Headphones, I needs some.

So, did a quick search, and pretty much all the old headphone threads have been dead since almost 2008, so I figured I would start a new one.

I needs some new headphones.  My current Wireless Soundblaster set has served me faithfully for going on 4 or 5 years, but they finally bit the dust yesterday (the right side stopped producing sound).  So now I am in the market for a new set.   I would prefer to go wireless (unless you can really sell me on wired headphones).

Some notes:
-  I am not sure if I have a "larger then average head", but the Soundblaster set I had was rigid with a very snug fit.  Something with a bit of flex in the support arch would be nice.
-  The Soundblaster set i had was a Full Coverage Over Ear type, not an On ear type.
-  I am not an "audiophile", so as long as they sound good for general music / gameing, I dont really care about the finer points of if they produce ultra low or super bass or whatever sounds.
-  I would prefer to go with RF wireless, as I like to occasionally roam around my place while listening to music, so Bluetooth / IR is out due to absolutely shitty ability to penetrate walls.
-  I only have the Onboard Motherboard sound for a wired headphone, but finding one with a cord long enough to suit me seems to be practically impossible.
-  A built in mic would be handy, but given some of the issues I had with the mic dying on my old set, I can probably pass on that and get a seperate mic.

-  Final note, my price cap is prob going to be around 150 or so.

So, anyone here got any suggestions?  What do you guys use for headsets?

I use the Logitech h800 and I love it.  Even the bluetooth range has been good (surprisingly penetrating walls) but the RF receiver works well too (I keep the RF on my desktop and use it to play music while streaming games from my desktop to my laptop).

Sound quality sounds good to me, but I'm no audiophile.

I will second the G930's.  I've had mine for sometime now, 3-4 years maybe.  And my only complaint is that I have the early revisions and the RF signal is right around the same signal my microwave produces; so I will get interference and resets when my wife warms up her coffee or something.  But, the sound quality is excellent and the mic. transition is flawless as Hat mentions.  Battery life from a full charge is ~8 hours.  My only complaint would be that if you wear glasses the weight/fit of the set will eventually grind your glasses arms into your head.

I have the Plantronics GameCom 780's.  Best headset I've owned for under $100.  

Yes, they are wired... but I never notice.  I tend to avoid wireless due to signal issues and white noise.  You also get more more headset for the money.

Ab-so-fucking-lute-ly the best set of headphones I've ever owned. I was so sad when they broke and the Best Buy no longer stocked them (I had bought the replacement plan for them). The earphone cups were large enough to fit over my big ears comfortably for a few hours and they sounded spectacular.

Not wireless and don't include a mic... so probably not what you're looking for... but I wear headphones for six or more hours every day, and the Sennheiser HD380s I got a few years back have never become uncomfortable. They surround the ear entirely and provide good noise baffling. They also have a crazy amount of adjustment available for massive heads - far more than I've ever needed.

Hmm, the logitech G930s actually look pretty nice, and are fairly close to the soundblaster set I had in looks.   How do they feel with the mic set in the up / mute position? Is it distracting / in the way, or do you just tune it out after a while?  I only ask because the ones i had used a removeable mic, so when i didnt need it, i just removed it.

Sony MDR-7506 are awesome. They are not wireless but they have 3m cord. They cost about $100. The MDR-V6 is the cheaper version that are not much different, they cost about $65. The 7506 has been around for more than 20 years and are still one of the most commonly used monitor headphones in recording studios.

I have the Logitech G930s too. They are super comfy and the mike swings nicely out of the way if you don't want it in front of your face. Sound quality is excellent and they are comfortable. I can be anywhere in my apartment without losing connection too.

Yep.  I asked in PC build thread.  I ended up getting the Logitech corded for about $90.

They're OK. 

Pros:
They fit my largish head and sound fine.
Mic tucks out of the way and you don't notice it when not in use.
Nice cord. 

Cons:
Certain games don't work with the surround sound at all (massive crackling), so you'll likely have to turn it off.  Luckily it's jut a toggle on the side. 
The comfort isn't what I'd like.  They end up squeezing after an hour or so.  Ears are fine, but top of head starts feeling a bit pinched.  I could probably mess with the fit and included pads to
Be careful about who's selling them.  I wasn't paying attention and it was a reseller instead of Amazon.  I ended up getting unboxed refurbs.  I'm a little pissed about that.

I have a fairly large head and they are very comfortable on it. I wear them for hours without them being in any way uncomfortable, the pads feel good around my ears so that I forget I'm wearing them, the sound is fabulous, and I've been doing some voice recording for a local project recently and the mic was more than good enough. Highly recommended.

I have the Logitech G930's, too, and they are very good.  Great sound, very comfy, good range and great battery life.  Not sure about the mic as I don't use it much but when I did no one on the other end complained about it.

The mic goes up when not in use and it is out of vision.  You won't even notice it.

I'll sixth the 930s. Only problem is that there is a weak spot where the arm attaches to the ear-cup. It's a little door secured by 4 screws and the plastic breaks around the holes where the screws go quite often (read about it in multiple places and mine did it).  May be because of how I take them off put stress on it, so just be aware of that as a weak spot. I duct taped it up and it works fine.

Another one for the 930s. They're the only over the ears I've ever had and it took a little getting used to, but the sound is great and I feel like I'm actually getting something out of the surround. I never use the mic, so it's always up and there's no issues at all.

Decided to go with the Logitech ones, and so far, so good.  Now I just have to go through all my games and tweak the audio settings so they sound right with the new 7.1 surround options :P

I need to replace my PC350s since the cord got freyed from a previous pet bird my wife had. :/

I could send them back to get repaired, but the server tech said they would just send me a refurbished set and the cost is $85.00 + shipping. This set is discontinued anyway.

I bought the G4ME ONEs cause my G930s were crashing Warframe or TeamSpeak or both for some reason. The G4ME ONEs aren't as comfortable on my head as the G930s but the sound quality and mic are very good.
