Picked up Dark Souls 2, now that it has finally gone on sale.  33% off got it below my pain threshold.  Also got the Lifeline expansion for State of Decay, though it was only 25% off or something.

Still watching out for South Park, but I somehow doubt it will get cheap enough for me to buy it.

Yes, but is it worth $10? Or should I wait for it to be $5 during the Christmas sale?

Tempted to pull the trigger on Duck Tales (for nostalgia plus 5$), Van Helsing 2 and then I saw Wasteland 2 at 33% off - which brings it in-line with it's release price?

I may just brealk my resolution not to spend

Just buy my extra Van Helsing 2 key for $10. Don't buy it from them. Heh.

I was thinking about getting Banished but a) it will probably be cheaper in later sales and b) I'll probably won't play it in the next year, if at all.  It'll probably sit next to 200+ Steam games I've bought but never played.

Grabbed Project Zomboid, since I tried buying it last year but bought State of Decay instead by accident.

Hmmm, cant decide if i want to get Batman: Arkham Origins now, or wait till the winter sale and see if a "Ultimate" type edition with all the extras goes on sale.

There's always a GOTY with those things. I'd wait - unless you really want to play it right now.

yeah, considering that i havent even finished Arkham City yet, I dont think there is a pressing need to go for Origins at the moment.

I got 90 hours out of it, and I felt I got my money's worth, but it isn't super deep (and if you're "lucky" and don't get hit with disasters, there are loooong stretches of the game feeling super easy), so could probably wait for the Christmas sale unless you are desperate for a city builder that's less goal oriented than, say, Tropico 5.

Better hurry! The game might shut down before you buy it.

Got State of Decay + DLC (base game is € 4.74) and also Talisman: Digital Edition (without the DLC, for now) for € 5.17; the latter is currently 63% off.

I'm waiting for the Talisman Season pass to get better than 43%. Not sure if it will, since a ton of it is still unreleased, but there's no chance in hell I'll be paying $60 for it.

This sale feels different with the various early-access games going only a relatively small amount down from their fairly high prices--it's a kind of "well, this thing might actually get released in the next six months, and this price might be cheaper than the release price, and I otherwise might have to wait a year + to see it really discounted in a Steam sale" and then it is "and so how much do I think I am going to want to play it at release"?

I eventually pulled the trigger on Divinity OS and I'm glad I did, both because it's coming out in a week "for real" and because I really like it so far. I don't think I'm going to for Wasteland because I'll play it now and I want it to be as ready as it's going to be before I do play it.

Uninspired sale is uninspiring.

Green team won, so I started thinking about the contest numbers.  In January, Steam said they had 75million accounts.  Using that as a baseline, any single person has a 1 in 500,000 chance of receiving the top 3 games on their wishlist. That's if the stupid token things aren't used by teams to game the numbers.

One in a half million gets three games.  Make sure to put your highest ticket items up top, I guess.

So, thinking of getting Metro Last Light, Wolf Among Us and Transformers Fall of Cybertron.  I think Metro:LL is probably a safe bet but has anyone played the other 2?

Just grabbed Wolf myself, so who knows? Metro is good solid shooter for that price range, though it requires a PC built within the last three years (I discovered this when I bought it last year and it chugged at ten frames per second)

I'm excited to discover that logging in to my work computer on Thursday to check the sale put a hold on my trading privileges! So I can't buy any cards to complete badges, or sell the ones I have that are only worth anything until the end of the sale.

I don't think the odds are that steep.  Only people who've earned points are eligible, and there are only about 2mil points per day, so even if nobody earned more than one point the odds would be something like 1 in 66k as a pessimistic guess.  Optimistically, who knows what the average point value per player is.  I agree it's probably not worth banking on, though.

Is the whole points game even random? Cause it seems like a new team is winning each day by a LOT.  How does that system even work?

Hells yeah, already got Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon and XCOM Enemy Within. I'm such a fool.

Anyone want to buy Enemy Within and gift it to me? I can pay them in Hex cards or paypal. It's still a ripoff $17 for the aussies.

I'll send it to you for some Hex boosters.  Let me know if you still want it or not.

I think pretty clearly it's weighted towards whichever team hasn't won already. So not really a "game".

The South Park game seems a long ways from a bargain at $40, no thanks. Amalur or Wolf, maybe. Sleep on it.

South Park will be much cheaper come Christmas. If you haven't bought it now you didn't REALLY want to play it. Hold off.

NP, if there's other Steam games that are much less in the US/Canada, let me know.  I might be able gift them for Hex cards or something else.
