The demos weren't worth the effort to download them.   Buy the latte.

Releases in a month, so, I thought it might be somewhat far along at this point. Enough to probably gauge if it's worth the cash.  However, there's a lot of speculation on the actual release price for the game, which doesn't help me pull the trigger at this time.

What do you mean about the release price?  Rumors it will go on sale below $30 at release or something?  I'm seriously considering picking it up because I've got an RPG itch but if it'll be cheaper I'll wait a month. Especially since it sounds like saves won't carry to release.

Didn't they list the price of the digital download at $25 during the kickstarter campaign when selling the tiers?  Of course that could just be "here's the value" rather than "here's the price".

Yeah it was the bid tier. It also had this disclaimer; "This low price is only available to those who help fund. "

Those trying to say it'll be $25 don't understand kickstarter isn't a store.  I got Project Obsidian digital edition for $20 because that's how early I pledged.  It's certainly not going to sell at that price point.

Walking Dead season 2 at -50% is tempting, because I wanted to get it anyway.... but at -50% there's a decent chance it'll go on sale again for even cheaper.  Nnngh.

Unless, they're stopping at 3, no.  I think it'll be a 5 episode arc like the first.

So, by the time the winter sale comes along, it might be done.  And cheaper.   awesome, for real

Wow, the summer sale cards are selling for around $0.50 right now.

Note that you get a card for completing a badge, and that some badges cost less than $0.50 to buy all the cards for.  Figure out how to automate that shit and you can very slowly print money.   awesome, for real

Rage worth $5? Looking for a shooter.

Maybe, it's functional and pretty, but I didn't find it interesting enough to finish yet.  IIRC the plot doesn't resolve, just ends on a teaser for a sequel we'll never get.

I had a lot more fun with Bulletstorm, for what it's worth, though with GFWL maybe going away it's future is kinda uncertain.

Yeah, I was interested in Bulletstorm until I saw it was GFWL. Nope.

Thanks.

I vote no.  It was like Borderlands but even more boring.

I liked Rage - but never finished it as it felt unfinished and the graphics loading pissed me off in the end. Think Quake 2 that tried to be Fallout - if that's your thing, pull the trigger.

Thoughts on XCom the Bureau at under $10? There's nothing else on the sale so far that I'm remotely interested in - I may have gorged on previous sales (and still not played half of them :( ).

Shit - just looked at my Steam folder size - 1.15 TB

That's not including my non-steam games.  ACK!

I enjoyed it (Bulletstorm) -- it has a fun combo / points system. You do need to enjoy (or at least to tolerate) bro-shooters, however.

It's ... very average.  The shooter parts aren't anything to write home about.  The voice acting is deadpan 50's dialog, and you won't give a damn about any of the characters.  And the 3/4 plot reveal is pretty uninspired.

If you're an X-com completionist/fanatic you probably won't regret it, but I'd lump it with Fallout Tactics in that it's an uninspired game that's not the same play style as the main games of the franchise.

Hate to say it, but so far GOG has gotten more of my monies so far than Steam during this steam sale.

Should be on your profile page, or if you go to the event page it'll say "my team" next to yours.  Or, if you mouse over your thumbnail in the lower right corner of the Steam window, it'll pop up in your info box. You don't automatically start out on a team, though, you join one after you either vote on a sale or craft a badge.

I picked it up on GOG the other day. It's an odd little game, but neat enough to play a day or two at a time.

I actually had to go to the event page and hit "Get Started" to join a team; I had voted on 3 sales and nothing happened. It put me on Purple team, and gave me a card.

I also had to do the 'Get started' to get put on a team. I'm on Blue team, which apparently isn't very good at whatever it is that gets you points. I see teams can earn points.. and steal points? I don't know. I'm not exactly concerned. Even if your team wins its extremely unlikely that you'd be one of the 30 to get the three free games from your wishlist.

Yeah so just in case Green stops sucking dicks, what is the cheapest easiest way to get 1 point to be eligible to win whatever or whatever?

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.

For those like me who haven't gotten it yet, the Shadowrun Returns expansion Dragonfall is on sale for $6 (the original game is on sale for $3.74 or something) until about 4 AM CST.

That's a steal for those 2 games.  Finished Returns and about halfway through Dragonfall and both have had great stories and characters.  Buy them.

Hells yeah, already got Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon and XCOM Enemy Within. I'm such a fool.

Anyone want to buy Enemy Within and gift it to me? I can pay them in Hex cards or paypal. It's still a ripoff $17 for the aussies.

I'll send it to you for some Hex boosters.  Let me know if you still want it or not.

$20 seems the right price for Assassin's Creed IV.

So no leaked Russian dev list of the sale item prices this time, eh?

Only a couple of things I want, so I'll have to keep my eyes open for flash sales now. Bah.

If you've got any unfinished badges, like where you've got 3 out of 5 cards or something, you can check the market and see if you can fill in the holes for less than 40¢, and if so, buy them then craft the badge.  It gets you one point, plus a summer trading card you can market for something like 45¢, so it's a small profit.  I made like $10 doing this when I got lucky with the foils, but not sure about the odds on that.
