I've dumped probably 2-3k blood shards into helms on Kadala, trying to get an Andariel's Visage for my lightning barb. I finally got one to drop, but it had Physical damage on it.

It's not a perfect roll, as I'd like crit damage or a skill I actually use, but that 18% lightning damage is still ridiculously good, as well as the under-rolled proc (that goes off ALL the time).

I also got this necklace out of an act 1 cache, and it goes REALLY well with a lightning barb build:

The clones are invulnerable and last 15 seconds, and they are easily triggered with the 30% chance to stun on Frenzy.

My current project is dumping shards into Kadala in an attempt to get some Ice Walkers, which would help my survivability immeasurably.

Also, if you have the recipe, go out of your way to get some Reaper's Wraps:

These are the ones I have, and with the Swords to Ploughshares rune on Battle Cry, I have an 8% chance on crit to spit out health globes. The group I run with predominantly runs Reaper's Wraps, and the amount of damage we can put out when I spit out a stack of 8-9 health globes from a single mob is absurd.

But that Captain's salami tray was tight, yo. You plump for the roast pork loin, dogg?

You really are missing out without +elemental damage on your ammy, but those reapers have me crazy jealous.

I've put maybe 3000 shards into gloves this week trying to get a Tasker for my WD, but all I got was 1 legendary and it was trash.

Kadala still sucks. Legendary item drop should be doubled yet again. It's another day in Sanctuary.

Reaper's wraps are not hard to farm, Malthael drops the recipe and the legendary mat for it.

It's a nearly guaranteed recipe drop the moment you kill him the first time if you're above 61.

It's boring as shit to farm though as he has 5 billion hit points.

I've been gambling for hats. Had 3 legendaries so far, each one a worse version of one I already had in the bank.

Luckily I pulled a Mask of Jeram off Kadala. Now that Hat has informed me that Tasker exists, I have no choice but to try for that.  I imagine I'll get lots of shitty rolled magefists.

With Kada overall I've gotten 2 hats, 1 belt, 1 chest, a bracer, and a mojo (the snakes).

Haunt of Vaxo is awesome.  The clones cast poison dart, frogs, horrify, corpse explosion, and locusts for my witch doctor.  I'm glad I can proc it with Bogodile, because I really didn't want to slot Snake to the Face or Mass Confusion.

I've gotten a few off Kadala since the change, and even kept a few.  She doesn't want to give me pants, though.  Of those I've seen none.

Other than Pox Faulds legendary pants are on the whole very underwhelming anyway. Pretty much a place to get a set bonus and nothing else.

Really that's all I'm hoping for.  At this point on the Wiz that's all I can do for upgrades.  Minor incremental +es and set pieces. I've gotten one set of Firebird to drop and that's it.

Im looking for one as well, and that seems to be the best way to get one, or so I hears.

I think that's the only way you can get it.  Act 4 bounties should work as well (because they give you anything from 1 through 3).

I got mine through an Act 1 cache.

Yeah, if just farming for that ring then drop difficulty to normal and farm act 1 to limit the variety of the legendaries that could potentially drop. Also, try to find other people needing the ring and split up in act 1 to farm it faster

Noob question: are legendaries unique? I got a legendary breastplate on my witchhunter that I love (gives me 3 wolves instead of one, combined with the Countess having the same piece our games are a crazy mashup of wolfpack frenzy, mad cluster arrow explosions, and that vengeance minigun effect!)

Problem is my bp is level 66.  So do I have a chance of finding level 70 version or is it unique to my character or account?

Also having found exactly zero green pieces so far, I don't have any idea what slot to gamble my shards on as I've got nothing to build on. Should I just pick whichever slot is weakest or are there some individual items a witchhunter should be hoping for? I'm currently ensnaring shot/cluster arrow but open to reconfigure if I kill stuff even faster and with bigger/more frequent explosions!

Yes, I know I'm paranoid, but am I paranoid enough?

Legendaries are not unique.  You may find another.

Don't go crazy on the gambling until you hit 70.  Then, it might help to look up demon hunter specific armor pieces and try for them.  Weapons/rings/amulets take more, so I prefer to use my shards on armors/offhands (I think most DH use dual hand crossbows, however).

Kadala doesn't give class sets though, eh ?

Or have I been fooled by that 'fact' ?

Correct. Also not the quasi class sets like Firebirds and Vyr's.

Torment Only Legendaries

Natalya's Vengeance
Immortal King's Call
Tal Rasha's Elements
Inna's Mantra
Zunimassa's Haunt

Firebird's Finery*
Embodiment of the Marauder*
Raiment of a Thousand Storms*
Raiment of the Jade Harvester
Armor of Akkhan*
Monkey King's Garb
Thorns of the Invoker
Vyr's Amazing Arcana
The Shadow's Mantle
Might of the Earth
Helltooth Harness*

With the exception of Shard of Hate you can get basically every non-set legendary from Kadala.

Note they're going to (have already? I've been Hexing) make a change to let those come out of Horadric Caches obtained on Torment difficulties, which they currently can't do. So that should be a good change.

Well, I'm level 70 with ~45 paragon points and over 300 shards so I'm going to have to go crazy on the gambling soonish before I hit the 500 shard cap.
I'm just totally confused about what to do now to improve my character beyond kill more stuff and hope for phat lewts. But I am enjoying the killing stuff part, generally at Torment 1 for a moderate challenge or Master for a cakewalk, both solo and duo.

I also am having a horrible run of luck, having found only three or four legendaries since I hit 70, less than one for every four adventure mode clearing of an act, usually with the bonus thingies, and with a few rifts thrown in, roughly a quarter at master and the rest at Torment 1 or higher.

People still run adventure mode?  I thought Level 70+ was all about rifts, just throwing AM in for the shards to open rifts.

You don't get rifts outside adventure mode ?

I think he's confusing Adventure mode with the campaign mode.

Nah, he means running bounties vs. doing Rifts (hence the mention of using AM to get shards.)

People do run bounties, mostly speed runs on Normal to try to farm the Cache-specific legendaries like the ring that lowers set requirements. The change to Caches to let the Torment sets drop out of them on Torment might change that or it might not.

What Ingmar said. I meant bounties but link that mentally as "adventure mode" because clearing rifts doesn't stop the match maker from replacing dropped players while clearing bounties does. Which is dumb, but w/e.

I'd imagine the change to the caches will get more people doing them, but on T1 which is silly slow.

BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT HE SAID !!!

But yeah, I check out for the recipe dude, I do a bounty if I need rift shards and I rift.

It's all cool.

I said adventure mode. I meant bounties. I R confuzzled and definitely not optimized! LOL
I also have never played in a public game in D3. I mostly duo or trio with friends and family, and soloed last night for the first time this year.

So I need gear, I'm still half in blue and have no set items at all, I gots lots of rift shards so I should be rifting? What level? We can duo T1 rifts easy enough, I seem to recall we had trouble or at least it was unfun slow at some higher level of Torment but I don't recall what level it was. It might have been late and I might have been drinking, which may or may not have made it harder but definitely blurred the memory!

I'll probably save the rifts for when I have company. So for solo I should do Act 1 bounties at either Normal or Torment 1?

I may still be a bit confused here.

Seriously, there's literally NO downside to grouping and jumping into Public Games.  You get through things quicker, more rifts get opened and the monsters go down quicker than ur mom.

You'll find that interactions are at a bare minimum and you won't get tards.  You get your own loot, so no-one's competing, it's just a push through.

You should do it.  ALL OF YOU.

If you need gear then rifts are the best bet because of the increased legendary drop rate.  Public for the + find of being in a group and the ability for people to drop in and out. Play the hardest you can where you don't die every encounter.  There's almost always folks playing lower then their ability because they want an easy night or they're farming for something.

Start a new rift up once the old one is done and just chain them without doing bounties.  As I said, once a bounty run is complete MM won't add new players but if all you're doing is Rifts it will keep dumping people in on you. Typically I'd wind up in a group that would rotate through openings and people would drop after they hit 4 so they'd opened one and gotten 3 free runs.

Clear the "good maps" listed even if you've already killed the guardian.  Super Jail was one, Swamp is another.  There's enough champs and elites in close enough proximity that it's worth it to clear those maps before closing the rift via turn-in.

I am old and slow and have to watch my stoopid blood pressure and if there is one thing that stresses me out more than being pushed to go faster it's being that one guy everyone resents because he's too slow!

Friends and family seem willing to put up with me anyway. But I tend to avoid situations where I feel like I'm either imposing on others or at risk of being imposed on by them, especially strangers.

That said, next time I feel up to a mad blitz game I might give pub a try. Best way to learn new tricks for sure.
