I saw the World of Waiting ads.  When the someone kicks sand your face, calling them a poopyhead doesn't usually do much good.

And as for Warcry, those ads must be racking in huge bucks from all those rabid WoW fans wanting to read the copy/pasted news from WoW's main page.

I got the 'World of Waiting' ad first-try.  It's a good thing I can touchtype, my eyes haven't yet recovered from the experience.

I do not understand what possessed the WoW Warcry site to allow a set of ads like that.

Not to be outdone, IGN and Stratics are running the same ads. But they have the decency to mix the ads up a bit, instead of the same blue one. IGN has a nice green one, and Stratics a red one. Both still flash based and seizure inducing, but hey, at least it's not blue.

So SOE is throwing gobs of money at advertising in order to lure people to EQ2. Joy.

I think my biggest problem has been stratics the whole time. The skyscraper on the right and the banner up top actually run together. I've made construction paper dioramas that were less offensive. Also, it's pretty insulting to EQII to have that many ads running on one page. It's ugly and makes me think less of SOE even though I'm pretty sure they had nothing to do with the placement. Ryzom took up the same spaces also, and their ads were a hideous purple/white. Asherons Call ads were Green/white and took up the same places as well.

Ok, holy fucking hell in a handbasket. That's goddamn obscene. There is no fucking excuse for putting that much ugly, flashing Flash flash banners in one web space, especially not 4 flash banners OF THE SAME GODDAMN THING.

Maybe that's their goal. If I was ever forced to run a competing game's ads I'd make it as offensive as possible. :P

I don't visit those sites except IGN for their talent calculator... no I wont go there even for that. Damn those ads are bad. How the fuck am I to concentrate on what I'm doing with them flashing all the damn time?
