Yeah it went live last night.

Oh, I remember reading last night a blue post that they are looking at increasing legendary craft mats so they drop *much* more frequently.

After that can they actyally look at making the itesm useable?

I mean, I have both the Cain's and the Demonskin set of plans, and I cannot for the life of me figure out *why* I'd want to craft them. They cost an astonishing fortune, have completely random stats and have terrible set bonuses.

Most of the crafted legendaries and sets seem that way - I think they should be redone and turned into "build" sets so that folks can focus in on an item or set they want that matches their playstyle. Cains should be turned into a useful set for experience gain, for example - have every piece spawn with lower level requirements, have experience gain on lots of them etc. Demonskin could be a fire based set etc.

There's no reason to not blow through your shards on whatever, though, at the absolute worst you get crafting mats. I bought about 20 mojos right after the hotfix and got my Manajuma's mojo that way, so the stuff *can* drop.

Yeah, finally got a legendary last night blowing through chest shards.  It is utter crap, so I'm going to shard it.

Does the lower level Cain's set recipe not drop anymore? There's a mid-20s one that does exactly what you describe, from before the expansion.

I actually don't really care about the cost to crafting them, but holy shit I have two legendaries on my character that require flawless royals *just to reroll a stack*.

That right there is fucking retarded  swamp poop  I'll pay that retarded cost when I can be guaranteed a non-shit roll.

Patch 2.04 is live, lots of goodies for class balance, and a neat little bonus of the "philosophy" of why they're adjusting classes.

Key things are WD signature spells buffed, Crusaders buffed all over (heaven's fury had a rune nerf but the buffs more than make up for it), Barbs and DH have generators buffed, monks are fine, and Wiz had arcane orb: frozen orb and Electrocute: Surge of Power nerfed a bit. Poison monster affix nerfed.

Additional note regarding Malthael drops:
Basically people were killing him, looting, then logging out before death animation completed so they could keep killing him like it was their first time it seems.

The radius is a little smaller and the chill only lasts for what the skill says. It is not a huge nerf in any sense, yeah.

If you are of a mind to abuse bugs while they last, Crusader Thorns passive + Reflective Armor rune on Iron Skin is completely busted right now.

Like against anything. The value of the thorns passive apparently scales with difficulty now and it's 50k on Torment 1. With reflective skin up people are reporting entire elite packs one-shotting themselves on it, etc. Hack is pretty insane right now too apparently.

Attention Crusaders,

There is currently a very unpleasant bug with Blessed Shield - Shattering Throw where the shield can rebound on the Crusader casting it, potentially resulting in death.

Hardcore players should avoid using this skill until a hotfix can be implemented.

We are currently working on a hotfix and will update the 2.0.4 Patch Hotfix thread with more information as soon as it becomes available. We thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible!

30 million damage thorn crits  Ohhhhh, I see.

I have to remember not to swing my sword while it's on; I keep blinding the enemies and they quit killing themselves...

EDIT:  Wish I had the durability for Torment VI.  Base thorn damage of 524,000=crits for 285 million....

The no Death's Breath for crafting things sub 70 makes that a whole lot more fun. I went from 60k to 130k when my WD leveled to 61. The new Haunt is pretty awesome.

Sure arcane orb isn't much worse, there is just going to be a lot less of them because of "Bug Fix: Fixed an issue where Electrocute was granting double the intended amount of Arcane Power when used with Prodigy".

They were so concerned about farming Manglemaw that they nerfed his loot. They're overly paranoid about people playing the game how they want to play it. Way to have a control freak managing design. Ohhhhh, I see.

The whole reason most people even bought the expansion was because of the improvement to the loot system. If they turn that into a bait and switch at this point they'll pay the price.

Crusader things hotfixed already:

    Blessed Shield - Shattering Throw
Should no longer cause players to deal Area Damage to themselves and allies.*
    Iron Maiden
This skill no longer erroneously scales with monster difficulty and provides 6102 Thorns @ level 70.*
Please note the tooltip will not reflect this value. We plan to rework this skill in a future patch.

Anyone else note an increase in legendary drops?  After the last few days where I was getting one an hour I got one every half hour or so last night.  2 pats. 2 chests. 2 rings and a shoulder. (Killed az and belail and got 2 drops there)

Not sure about rate, but i had a legendary for lvl 13 drop for a newly minted crusader last night.  I think it's the lowest level i've ever seen.

Definitely. My first bounty on my 60 WD last night, in the first room had a set chest piece, legendary legs and a 60 orange recipie drop.  Over the course of the next three hours, I had another 3 legendaries drop, all mostly bad, but they did drop.

If you're doing Nephalem Rifts, that would be expected, they buffed the drop rate in Rifts in a hotfix a bit before the patch.

I think they also upped the drop rate overall on higher difficulties?

More loot rate changes of various sorts:

Quote
A series of hotfixes will be deployed today making more adjustments to overall reward structures within the game. I wanted to take a minute to explain the reasons for the changes that we are making. A driving goal of our design has been to make killing monsters feel rewarding, we want you all to find tons of cool items that you are excited about but more importantly we want you to have fun while doing it.

Rifts have always been intended to be the most efficient play method in the game, currently they arenít for a number of reasons. Part of this has to do with the high level of efficiency in farming that players find doing things like farming Manglemaw, Razorclaw and any other number of unique monsters. Another contributing element is that farming chests without having to actually fight monsters is far more effective than actually fighting the monsters. It is very important to us that chests are exciting to find and feel rewarding but presently they are far too common and reliable to farm in certain areas of the game.

Finally Kadala, she has always been intended to give players some degree of control over their item upgrades. While we donít want players to simply pick and choose from a list of items at an excessively high cost, we do want you to have an answer to the question ďHow do I upgrade my boots?Ē. Kadala is meant to be that answer, she is meant to give you some direct control over the types of items you find. Since we are increasing the overall reward structure of the game she is also going to be increasing but by a larger amount than the rest of the changes since she didn't feel rewarding enough to us.

Without further delay here is a list of the changes that will be coming in the hotfix.

The Bad!
Unique monsters now drop less items.
*Uniques were dropping far more loot than their difficulty would warrant.

Chest spawns have been thinned out across all acts of the game.
*Ideally chests become less common and something that players canít flip games to farm. It is our goal to make them feel exciting and rewarding when you find them.

The Good!
The bonus legendary drop rate for rifts is being increased from 25% to 100%!
*This means that while in a rift your chance to find a legendary item from monsters, chests, elites, and everything else is double what it is outside of rifts. No this does not mean opening bounty bags in rifts is the new hotness. ;P

Kadalaís legendary drop rate has been significantly increased.
*Blood Shards are meant to be a compelling element of rift rewards and something players are excited to get.

Loot is an incredibly important aspect of Diablo games and we will continue to keep a very close eye on it. If more problems arise we will continue striving to address them. It isnít our goal to take loot away from people, we just want to make sure they are having as much fun as possible while finding it and these changes all support that goal.

Good hunting and link the loot!
