I got the bundle for March of the Eagles which I might play someday. That left me with 2 extra War of the Roses keys for whomever wants one. Please post if you use either of them.

Yeah, I mean, very generous of you.  But might not want to stick the naked links out there unless your fine with everybody on the Internet jumping at them.

Wow, March of the Eagles. What a surprise. Can't say if it's bugged or broken somehow, but for what turned to be essentially a free game I must say I am impressed. Really liking it so far.

What's the catch?

Isn't it basically a Hearts of Iron reskin?  Which is probably why it's fun, I played a crapload of HOI II.

Perhaps a rebearding instead of a reskinning.

Anyone ever play Space Engineers? It's on sale and the idea scratches a big itch of mine. Worth 10 bucks?

I've heard good things about it, but I'm still salty at the devs for their last project, Miner Wars 2081, which had almost the same sales pitch as Space Engineers but ended up being kind of shit and then abandoned before it was really finished.  Not buying another Early Access title from them.

Rome 2 is only worth $10 max, even fixed.

I can't get original Rome to run anymore without crashing, but I wish I could. It usually bugs out on me in the graphics somehow. But maybe it might run better for you.

Either way Rome 1 is still superior to 2. Medieval 2 is fantastic and still runs. Shogun was okay. Empire was garbage.

Will admit to being super curious about this one as well.  Super cheap, and overwhelmingly positive steam reviews (and a lot of them).  Any one else have experience with it?

It's on my wishlist because I've heard good things too. But I'm not doing early access any more.

Feels like a true CRPG from the eighties, pretty straightforward especially if you played the Bard's Tale or Phantasie series; at (currently) €2.49, it's a steal (might get even lower, now it's on a 50% discount).

The Anime Weekend sale on Steam is pretty cool if you are into Visual Novels.

I cannot recommend Analogue: A Hate Story and Hate Plus enough. They are fantastically melancholic and pretty unconventional. And they are as low as 2 or 3 euros.

Recettear is another all time favourite. Going for 4€.
Ys Origin at about 6€ is another good deal.

Magicka and all it's DLC is on sale through Alienware Arena for 75% off.  That makes it $10.  It's here.

I didn't have any of them so it was nice for me.  :)

Yeah, I'm noticing that.  I started playing yesterday and I can't get passed that giant group of baddies right after the big snake.  There's just too many of them!  One thing that's almost working is casting walls that the trolls hit and it does good damage.  I'm just not fast enough to avoid the second troll before I've murdered the first one.   ACK!  There doesn't even seem to be a way to cheat in sp mode.  I think they had playing with friends in mind when they made this game.  After three or four years, people aren't playing it online anymore and you're just left with a very difficult sp game that takes more than just you to beat.

It's very much meant for multiple people, and that's why I stopped playing it when it came out. It's one of the games I cite when bitching about mandatory multiplayer and the dissapearance of SP experiences.

I have no interest in multiplayer as nobody games on the schedule I do or wants to take breaks as often as I do.  MP games are made for kids who can get home and dedicate 4-5 hours with friends on the same schedule and 20-somethings of similar freedom.

Mandatory multiplayer is fine as long as it's prominently advertised that way. To each their own and whatnot.

In the short term, sure.  In the long term, it kills a lot of games (and on Steam, it's not like they ever stop selling these games even if you can't really play them).  I'm really wary of multiplayer only indie games these days, since they're almost always unplayable a year after launch (if they even get that long).

Yep. To each their own, but mandatory multiplayer means "buy up front or never play it."

Meanwhile, I started showing my son the joy of Tie Fighter 2 weeks ago.

Not a real deal, but Fractured Space, game of big huge slow spaceships hurting each other, is free for the weekend. You give it back on Monday morning though, it's like a timed demo.
Think about World of Spaceships in space, or Mechwarrior in space.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/310380/

EDIT: Correction. Apparently it's free for everyone to keep.

I played...way too much of this over the weekend - guess I was jonesing for some pewpew, without the ball-crushing pain of EVE.

It's decent, needs more work and content. Stealth needs an incredibly hard nerf. It sort of plays like a MOBA, except without the mobs...and in capital ships in space.

I unlocked about 2/3'rds of the available ships in about a day. Could be something pretty neat here, and it was free.

I wrote a glowing review of it for the front page 2 months ago; I think schild's much more ashamed of my taste in games than I am, as evidenced by it not having been published yet.   awesome, for real

I can personally recommend a whole slew of games on that page and have heard glowing recommendations of several others that I haven't gotten around to playing yet.  But I'm not going to write a dozen paragraph-long mini-reviews in response to a single-sentence inquiry.  It's easier to just say "yes" unless he wants to narrow it down to a few he's considering or say something about his personal taste.
