Shadow Warrior: Prologue

This is my first attempt at this kind of thing, so feel free to point out any mistakes I make so I can correct them.

The game has a ton of "secrets" but most of them are just more ammo/money.  In the interests of not boring everyone to death with scene after scene of me rummaging through cupboards, I'm going to try to skip most of that and keep things fairly fast.  I will probably be doing a few videos of some of the more interesting secrets/references/easter eggs, though.

Chapter 3: Extras

Unless there's an objection, this will probably be the last "extras" video I do, with the idea that I'll be pushing two chapters a week instead of 1 + the "extras" video.  The story starts to pick up after chapter 4, plus I'm running low on material for the extra videos.  I think I've shown off almost everything I know about, there are some other swords and one more sprite (another anime girl sprite from the original game) but most of the rest of it is just retreads of stuff we've already seen or just more retro rooms, and I don't know that those are interesting enough to devote an entire video to.

Chapter 5
Finally, we get to the cemetery, meet the golem, and retrieve the Nobitsura Kage... OR DO WE?

I like this so far. The comedy banter is good and the swordplay is solid.

Thanks!
Yeah, I really like the melee combat in this game.  Probably the most fun I've had in first person melee since Jedi Knight 2.

So here's a chapter with no swordplay at all. awesome, for real
Chapter 6
Our first boss fight, against Gozu.

Chapter 7

Push button, go down stairs.... Push button, go down stairs... Push button, go down stairs.

Starting to think Zilla might not be on the up-and-up, here...

Chapter 13
You can tell we're getting towards the end because of all the bullshit jumping puzzles over instant death pits.

Now that tax season is drawing to a close I'm getting caught up again on this.

You're doing a good job with it, and I liked the extras videos if you want to work in a couple near the end.

Sounds good, we're getting close to the end, so maybe I'll do a final extras video to cover everything I can think of that I've missed.

Chapter 15
In this thrilling chapter, Lo Wang decides to lay down his sword and instead use the greatest weapon of all: words.

Chapter 16
Actually, fuck words.  Here's twenty minutes of people getting stabbed in the face.

Honestly, this one is kind of hard for me to watch.  Most chapters are action pieces interspersed with more calming walking sequences, but this one has one fight that goes on for something like ten solid minutes.  I got a bit motion sick just editing this, so if you're going to skip one video, this would be the one IMO.

Wow, that story got super duper crazy near the end.

Good on you for doing it the whole way through. You are right about the levels getting grueling near the closing parts, but I think it's like that whenever you see the end of the tunnel.

Bravo!

Thanks! smiley

Had a lot of fun putting this together.  I'm still trying to figure out how I can make it more interesting if I decide to do another one of these someday.  Maybe edit out some of the repetitive bits, or add some commentary or something.

Shadow Warrior: Extras (Final)

This is basically all the extra stuff I couldn't sandwich in to the earlier "extras" videos.  There's some other retro rooms and a few other alternate katanas, but I don't know how interesting a twenty minute video of "here's the retro room for ch.13, here's the retro room for ch.14..." would be.

Anyways, thanks for watching!
