Teleku, the app process is a bit different now.  You may need to manually accept the invite, once the corp has accepted you on their end.  It's goofy, but I think they've done a round of applications since you sent yours in.

Yes, you definitely have to accept in game.

My application is still unprocessed.  Asked in the recruitment channel, explaining who I was, and was told I should contact Petto Behr (I'm forgetting, who is that here?) when he's online next.  Maybe it would have helped if I mentioned who I was in the app.   why so serious?  I'm applying as character name Telleka.

Just started Eve a second time, after I tried a 14 day trial last year and subbed 1 month w/o any guess what I was doing. I didnt play alot cause my father got seriously ill, so I didnt continue playing. Now I opened a new account and startet to play and read a lot about the game, and hell, it is so much fun. I try to do some missions and then learn more about PvP, maybe in EVE Uni or FW, but I dont know yet.

Those are both good options for getting started.  The absolute worst thing you can do is play alone after you've gotten a feel for the tutorials.

What's your character name? I can send you some isku to make the game a lot more bearable in the beginning.

I really forgot about this forum. I'm with EVE Uni now, very friendly and helpful people. Maybe its useful to stay there for some months and try the PvP campuses. But the game is so overwhelming and time is limited, I want to try everything. Everytime I read about something else I want to give it a try. Patience needed.

I've been out of the game a while now, but they're definitely a good place to start.  The best thing you can do (and you already did) is join up with a group right away instead of trying to figure things out for yourself.

Seems so that this forum is not so active in Eve anymore, I guess ? Thanks for the friendly advice, as far as I understand EVE Uni they have someone somewhere who knows about any part of the game. They welcomed me very kindly and have a great database for new players.

Edit :

I scrolled over this forum and read a lot of the old threads, shit I regret that I did not find EVE 5 years ago =/

The story was more compelling, but the gameplay itself has gotten so, so, so much better.

A few people are still playing, but haven't been posting much.  They still lurk about.

Logged in to do more than change skills for the first time in a few weeks yesterday. Cleared a couple anoms, got cocky and started reading my book. Intel channel missed a gang coming in to the next door system, so my first warning was "X in X system" (my system). Recalled drones and started aligning, hit warp when he appeared, but still got tackled. Down 1 Ishtar with T2 rigs and 1 clone with full +4s in.

As always, I am terrible at video games.

To be honest, looking back, the stories were the exciting conclusions of staring at blank screens for 6-8 hours a day. It sounded a lot more exciting than it really was.

I just looked at the influence map, correct me if I'm wrong, but the Clusterfuck now control everything from Period Basis to Geminate? And NCDOT control everything else that isn't Providence? People used to bitch about how smaller organisations couldn't get a look in, but shit, I don't remember there ever been literally 2 political blocks (plus Providence) on the whole map?

Also, I notice NCDOT has now changed their name to Northern Associates Dot. Did that joke get funny while I've been away?

Well, I decided to be a masochist and try eve online.  Got the starter pack for 50 cents.  I think it's been over a decade since I last played it a good bit (back in beta) and at least 7 years since I tried playing it but couldn't get into it.

Maybe things have changed enough to make it non-sucky for newbies?  Probably not but I might as well give it a go.

Brave Newbies seem to have fun if you are looking for somewhere to try the PvP side out. More than a few welps but still seem to be pretty relaxed by all accounts. PvE the training missions seem to  be a lot better - I fired up a new alt and got through it all - after that though you are on your own so find a corp.

It's not sucky for newbies, IMO, because one PLEX converted to ISK (or a gift from a veteran friend) takes care of your newbie expenses, and otherwise they've buffed the Tech 1 ships to be much more viable than they used to be.   So you can get into a workable ship pretty fast.   It still becomes extremely boring after the first couple newbie weeks, unless you have a good group of people to play with, so you can put those ships to use.

Yeah, NCdot still exist, under Vince Draken, but they rent out virtually all of their space, thus the ticker on the influence map.  It looks ilke a lot of space but the income is shared between them and the rest of the N3 bloc that survived our BR- victory (Nulli Secunda and various padding).

The Pandemic Legion one is BoT - Brothers of Tangra - while the CFC one is the Greater Western Co prosperity Sphere, which might serve to dampen our appeal to certain Asian markets.

There are still semi- or non-aligned players in sov nullsec: Providence is independent, while Legion of Death is semi-aligned to our enemies.  The Russian bloc collapsed after we declared Mission Accomplished! in the south.  I hope that CCP comes up with some radical changes to the game which shake this all up.  At the moment, our enemies hold substantially more space than us but they cannot build a bloc that can bring that to bear against us, and BR- probably means that their annual attack on us will fail at a somewhat earlier stage than normal, this year (the drawing board).

Well, from what I've been reading, the Kronos expansion tomorrow has a bunch of stuff but nothing major like that, and otherwise the industry changes may break the game for good, who knows.  But still, they're not aimed to change the nullsec sov space, not specifically.

I did notice you in Bat Country jabber last week, didn't I?  If you've not been told how to join us then PM me on here.  Do not subject yourself to Brave, who are not in any way as good as the propaganda (I have half a dozen agents in them at any given time, and had a character there myself, and it is pretty insufferable in places).  Basically, if faced with the choice, always choose the alliance where you can fly with Mister Vee.

I did notice that the hype around BNI has died down.

I thought of putting one of my new alts into it but in the end didn't bother - I've turned into a mission runner :( Log in, play for an hour, log out with one pilot out exploring to see how long it lasts (4 weeks then lost my shit coming out of a WH :D )

I don't even play anymore but this is so true, flying with  Vee is great. Hell even Boat is awesome. Does DBRB still do roams? I swear I don't miss EVE.

I was drinking with DBRB in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago: he's great fun and a really, genuinely nice guy.  He doesn't do much in the way of strat ops these days, but does FC bombers and small stuff a lot.

Bat Country are one of the most prestigious corps in Eve these days: we run the GIA (Goonfleet Intelligence Agency) and have done for about three years, now, turning it back into the most feared intel group in Eve from where it had languished after the Mittani's term ended.  We created the Ministry of Love, who are the empire wing of Goonswarm and are the most hated, feared and (this is the key bit!) talked-about gankers in the game, and who run the prestigious ice interdiction and Burn Jita events.

Most importantly, we are one of the chillest corps around, with people coming to join us from all over the place since we have the reputation for being competent but not uptight about it.

I always found DBRB to be a good guy from voice comms. Vee was a great commander as well, even if he made the bad choice of hating my guts.  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

To be honest, I miss the chatter of Ops in IAC and Goons. That was a great thing about the game. I don't miss the drama though.
