Is that a naked link in the OP... why so serious?

Edit: I won't ever buy another Microsoft console thingy or Microsoft physical device, and as soon as a viable OS is available that still lets me play my favorite games, I will completely boycott Microsoft forever.

Any chance at all I can download games instead of having to hunt around for the fucking disks every time I want to switch like it was 1996?

You can do that now on the 360 so presumably the new one will allow you to do that as well.

You can?? How? I can't start a game without the disks. Other than the crappy arcade direct download ones, I mean.

You have to buy the games on "Games on Demand" but I don't think they are usually available that way on release.

I look forward to it.

I'll never, ever, buy one but I can't wait to see how Microsoft's internal politics and dreams of world domination will manifest themselves this time.

AlwaysOn means NoBuying, unless by "Always On" they mean "Many features that are NOT YOUR GAMES might not work if you're not connected to the internet". If my games work when the internet is out, then I'm okay with it.

Interesting. Doesn't look like new releases are on there, but good to know for the future.

This has been in place on XBL and PSN for quite a while.  No, it's not comprehensive but there are more and more Day One Digital titles.  Also there are the bargain games that are de-disked like this.  Demon's Souls recently appeared on PSN, for example.

PSN has a ton of downloadable Day 1 titles now; they started that in September.  In fact, I'd say most games are downloadable from release on PSN.  Playstation Plus subscribers also get a new full game or two that they can download each month.  We were able to download Demon's Souls two weeks ago when it was finally put up on the PSN store.
