By-the-numbers modern day crime noir flick. Solidly made if unsurprising throughout. James McAvoy, Mark Strong, Andrea Riseborough, all great - believable despite being too young for their parts, and having very little plot to work with. I had a fun and completely non-challenging two hours. Characters are very shallow, but never quite cross over into the truly absurd; the plot is flimsy, but the various tropes and contrivances never quite took me out of the film. Maybe I was half asleep.
My only real complaint is the very sudden ending... Also, seems the whole thing was shot within 300 yards of my office, so spotting background scenery was fun.
