I don't really mind Ohio State over Auburn. I hate Auburn.

That said, I don't think many teams are better than FSU this year.

Yeah.  Auburn tears are good too, but it's not the same.  There aren't 800 million graduates like tOSU.

Texas is just as bad as OSU when they are functional.

McCoy ends the day 12-34 for 56 yards, 1 (rather amazing) TD and two INTs.  QBR of 4.3.   ACK!

The SEC is an abomination this year. It's like everyone forgot how to play defense, Alabama included. Ugh.

I don't think anybody is beating FSU this year, but we'll see.

I'm just glad Ohio State got exposed now instead of in the title game. My dream scenario could play out here. Auburn could get to play for the title and get embarrassed, thus bearing the shame as the only SEC team to ever lose a National Title Game in the BCS era, forever.

I fucking hate Auburn.  I wish they'd go to the Big 12.

Also, FSUs schedule was worse than tOSUs.  Auburn is taking them down.

It will be one of the only watchable BCS games tbh, besides the championship.

Well that sucked. Michigan State's defense lived up to their rep, and Ohio State's defense looked like they didn't learn anything from the Michigan game.
Congrats to MSU; they'd better represent in the Rose Bowl.

Oregon-Texas and Duke-Texas A&M should be complete train wrecks.  Otherwise the bowls actually look pretty damned good this year.

Heh.  The University of Texas fans are planning on Mackbrown being gone and their supposed list of people they are choosing from (yep) is:

1.  Nick Saban
2.  Jim Harbaugh
3.  Jimbo Fisher

Now I'll be the first to admit that Texas can throw a shitload of money at any of these guys, but I think they are in dreamland.  While I am a Texas fan, I really can't wait to see the tears on Shaggybevo when we end up with Brian Harsin.   awesome, for real

I am so hoping Saban goes. I dunno why... I just do.

And is it wrong that I had to have pity sex with my girlfriend because her Ohio State Buckeyes lost after finally playing a good team? I was kinda gloating at the time and now I am feeling conflicted.  DRILLING AND MANLINESS

Jim Harbaugh? Head scratch

Michigan I can see him going to (or back to Stanford) after his stint with the Niners is over, but Texas? Now?

Well, the rationale that the Texas people have is that they can buy anyone they want.  They probably can pay a salary that is above and beyond even most pro teams, but it is pretty ridiculous.  Their theory is that money trumps all loyalties.  And it may in some instances.  For guys like Malzahn, who is a likely "second tier" guy for them, it will be tough to leave when you just won a national title.

My bowl game rankings:

5 Stars
BCS NCG - FSU v. Auburn                           It's the game without Ohio State that we all wanted
Rose Bowl - Stanford v. Michigan State           Probably the best pure defensive matchup in the bowls

4 Stars

Capital One - Wisconsin v. South Carolina           South Carolina has great D, Wisconsin has a great running game
AT&T Cotton - Oklahoma State v. Missouri   You like points? This is your matchup.
Orange - Clemson v. Ohio State                   Everyone wants to see Ohio State lose again, except Ohio St fans who don't count

3 Stars

Chick-fil-A - Duke v. Texas A&M                   People will want Duke to win this, and Johnny Manziel wants a parting shot
Sugar - OU v. Alabama                                   This only reason this is interesting is people like to watch Alabama
Outback - Iowa v. LSU                                   Nobody in the SEC really knows anything about Iowa, but they can give LSU a game
Sun - VA Tech v. UCLA                           UCLA has been on the uptick, VA Tech is on the downtick. It might be even.

2 Stars

Gator - Nebraska v. Georgia                           Rematches from last year usually means both fanbases are pissed off about it
Fiesta - UCF v. Baylor                                   Do we still care about Baylor? This is a BCS game? Ugh.
Holiday - Arizona State v. Texas Tech           If feel like this one should have been better, but it didn't pan out for either team
Alamo - Oregon v. Texas                           Only upside to this bowl? Mack Brown gets fired after the 50th point against
Music City - Ole Miss v. Georgia Tech           Average teams playing in a below average event in a great city
Buffalo Wild Wing - Michigan v. Kansas State   This bowl screwed up everything by stealing Michigan, and it's still bad.
Russell Athletic - Miami v. Louisville                   Another year, this would be awesome, but Miami is wretched at the QB spot
Fight Hunger - BYU v. Washington                I want to see how Washington looks sans coach.
Texas - Syracuse v. Minnesota                   Minnesota on the rise, but Syracuse isn't going to put up a fight
Hawaii - Boise State v. Oregon State           I like the Beavers so they aren't as bad as the others

1 Star

Las Vegas - USC v. Fresno State                   It's a terrible game and the USC head coach already bailed
New Mexico - Washington State v. CSU      Both teams are barely what you would call winning records
Pinstripe - Rutgers v. Notre Dame                   Notre Dame should feel shame that they fell this far after a title shot
Belk - Cincinnati v. UNC                                   Cincy should melt UNC down and use them for new helmet shine. Total mismatch
Liberty - Rice v. Mississippi State                   In an academic bowl, Rice would dominate. In football? Hell, MS State is bad at both.
Compass - Vandy v. Houston                    Vandy deserved better than this. Houston is a middling team on a dead conference.

No Stars and this Bowl shouldn't exist

Famous Idaho Potato - Buffalo v. San Diego   Every player gets a potato sack to wear home.
New Orleans - Tulane v. Louisiana-Lafayette   Louisiana needed a bowl game, but they forgot that LSU is the only team that matters
Beef o Brady's - East Carolina v. Ohio           Two points if you can name a single player on both teams.
Little Caesar's - Pittsburgh v. Bowling Green   MAC v. 6-6 ACC team. Blech
Poinsettia - Utah State v. Northern Illinois   Wow Northern Illinois drops a championship game, and this is the draw? Sucks.
Military Bowl - Marshall v. Maryland                   Maryland went 3-5 in an ACC conference with 2 ranked teams. Shooting them would be kinder
Armed Forces - Middle Tennessee v. Navy   This sullies the good name of our armed forces when Middle Tennessee is involved.
AdvoCare V100 - Arizona v. Boston College   Two 7-5 teams who can't pass the ball? Luckily everyone will be at work and won't notice.
Go Daddy - Arkansas State v. Ball State           Filling the gap between the last BCS bowl and the NCG isn't enough to make me care.
Heart of Dallas - UNLV v. North Texas           North Texas got a bowl? They were beat by the UTSA Roadrunners. Why not them?

USC-Fresno State has some players worth watching in it.

EDIT: Lawl, we lost to 11 teams this year, and 10 of them are in bowls. Sad trombone sound for Colorado and us.

EDIT 2: Wait, I lied, just 9. Apparently Northwestern had a really bad 2nd half.

Looks like Mackbrown will be stepping down.  It will be interesting to see what sort of waves this sends through college football.

Sounding more and more like Nick Saban will actually be moving to Texas.
