Principal Photography wrapped today (Dec 21) on the last in the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy, Edgar Wright's "The World's End". It really could only end on this day.

Well, in announcing they wrapped principal on the movie, they also released the first promotional image. This very well could be my most anticipated movie of 2013.

I'm sensing a trend in movie titles.

Heh yea. But unlike that other one, this I'll be at opening night. Love Shaun and Hot Fuzz, and Martin Freeman's a good straightman in Sherlock Holmes with the occasional tough streak as needed.

Seth Rogen actually renamed the other movie too.  It used to be The End of the World.

The third movie in the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and now The World's End).

Sorry about the MSN Video link - I'm sure it'll pop up on youtube soon enough.

http://video.uk.msn.com/watch/video/exclusive-the-world-s-end-trailer/2t5faj5e

I loved Shaun of the Dead the first time I saw it, Hot Fuzz I love more and more with every viewing - so I am really looking forward to this.

Oh god, I'm in.  I wasn't actually expecting to see another movie from them after Pegg started going mainstream.

So. Fucking. There.

And this time, I won't chug half a bottle of wine before the movie and miss chunks like I did the first time I saw Hot Fuzz.

I love how they kinda mashed up elements of Shaun of the Dead and Hot fuzz, than even had Pegg and Frost play total opposites of themselves.

I really liked this film but I'm not sure I never wasn't going to. I certainly haven't laughed out loud as much in a film for a long time.

That being said, I don't think it's quite got the charm of Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz and I reckon it will divide people and some people are really going to hate it.

I really enjoyed this one.  The writing was relentlessly clever and I was grinning/laughing throughout.  I'd put it above Hot Fuzz for sure, and I liked Hot Fuzz.

Loved this, like Samwise I was grinning and laughing throughout the whole movie. Simon Pegg was especially good.

I had high expectations after Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz and this completely met them all.

I think I liked hot fuzz more, but that is not any sort of damning statement.  This movie still had me laughing my ass off.

I liked most of it; the long dialogue at the end felt pretty weak though.

This is probably my favorite movie of the year so far, but I was an easy mark for it. Shaun is still the king (no pun intended), but this one is probably above Hot Fuzz. But, it contained Sisters of Mercy and lots of beer, so..... easy sell for me.

Was not expecting to tear up a bit in this one, but was very happy with it. Pegg's best performance.

Weirdly enough I like Hot Fuzz better than Shaun. But I'm keen to see this one. Sometime this week.

Yes they backloaded a lot into the end both at climax and at resolution but to me, it felt much more like a classic scifi movie in that regard when the plot/moral is basically summed up. For that reason I really enjoyed it, a throwback to days when scifi tried to have a message.

there was a shit ton of amazing references to classic scifi/horror, especially with lighting at times. The attention to detail was pretty astounding at times.

Better than Hot Fuzz, not as good as Shaun. I hold all three in high regard. That said,
Also, the soundtrack was fucking spectacular. But that's probably because I'm getting old and all of that was shit from my prime.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I should be excited or worried, since I thought Hot Fuzz was better then Shaun and you all seem to think its better than Hot fuzz but not as good as Shaun.   awesome, for real

Yes, but all* of us like Shaun and Hot Fuzz... so... if you liked those, you're set.

Yeah, I know, was mainly just making a joke, heh.  I absolutely loved Shaun of the dead, but Hot Fuzz was just such a perfectly glorious movie...

Looking forward to this!

Now I'm afraid that those of us who have seen it are overselling it and it'll end up being cool to hate it when it fails to live up to impossibly high expectations.  Like Pacific Rim.   awesome, for real

Was the end of the world scientifically accurate? That's the most important thing here.

As much as PacRim was the perfect movie for me, or should have been at any rate, World's End is a much better film. Much more personal, which goes a long way for me.

But yeah, there's always that fear of overhyping something.

That's what made me like it so much. It was deeply personal. I found myself quietly singing along with half the songs and knowing just how half the characters felt as they went through the overarching meta of the whole movie.

The wife, who's a few years younger, not so much.
