Someone's started a remake of Descent in the Unreal 3 engine. Very, very early days yet. I'd contribute to a KS for this if it looked like it was going somewhere.

I did love me some Descent back in the day. I hope they can recapture the feeling of disorientation, where there is no real up or down.

Descent was probably my favourite of 'Those Thar Doom Clones' back then.  I found that I was actually really, really good at 3D piloting and was almost unbeatable in deathmatches.  It was always fun surprising another guy who couldn't get their head around 3D and kept thinking in terms of up and down.  (kinda like Khan in ST:WoK).

Also, running away from the nukes was always fun.

Loved that game.  Loved it.

Or you could play Miner Wars, which releases in a week or two.

Just watching the demo video of that Descent remake reminded me quite vividly that Descent was one of the very very few first-person perspective games that makes me motion sick.

I'm literally squeeing like an anime schoolgirl right now.

Cyno's lit, bridge is up, but one pilot won't be jumping home.
