I dunno, some of it looks okay.  It's no Christmas special, but there's some nice stuff there.  I already own just about everything that's worth getting, is the only "problem".

I mean, there's Vampire: the Masquerade: Bloodlines, Bioshock, Amnesia, Fear, Left 4 Dead, The Walking Dead, Trapped Dead, Dead Rising, Dead Space, Dead Island, Dead Horde, Deadlight, Deadzombiedeaddead McDead: the Deadening (part Dead)...  All the horror classics.

Yeah, there's a lot of good games up there if you don't have them already.  I think everybody has been doing steam sales for so long on this forum, however, that we own almost everything.   

Anybody have anything to say about Deadlight?  Somewhat intrigued by it, even if they're only offering 15% off for the sale.

I'm looking at Anna and Lone Survivor, any opinions on the two?

Anna I don't know, but Lone Survivor is kinda interesting but pretty short. Lone Survivor is sort of a side-scrolling pixel-based Silent Hill rip with more focus on exploration than combat. I thought the sound design was pretty good.

Like Fabricated said, Lone Survivor is kind of neat, but a bit... I dunno, esoteric, maybe?  There are a number of complaints about the vague nature of the storyline (it's kind of a mystery what's going on, a lot of it feels more like some kind of weird dream than an actual narrative) and there's some weird meta game things to google if you want to get the good ending, but it seems alright if you can get past that.  I haven't played a ton of it, but I didn't find it to be too bad.

Anna I haven't played at all, but I've heard nothing but concentrated negativity regarding it.  It's more of an old school puzzle adventure game, where you're pixel hunting and rubbing inventory items on stuff to see if anything happens.  Allegedly the puzzles are pretty bad (in the nonsensical, "print off a page from gameFAQs beforehand" way), the UI is klodgy, the story is not particularly scary, it's pretty short, and the game has some serious technical issues.  But I haven't played it, so I defer to anyone with first hand experience.

Personally, I found it a lot easier to get into F3 because it has a stronger narrative than NV.  But, in general, NV stays more "true" to the feel of Fallout, has more variety and humor, and a lot of people seem to prefer it.  New Vegas is a bit jankier with regards to things like stability and difficulty level, but it's had a few more balance passes than the original F3 did.  I preferred F3, but they're both pretty similar, and the general consensus says New Vegas, so I'd recommend Vegas if you're only getting one.

This is exactly the opposite of my experience. FO3 crashed constantly for me, every half hour at its worst. NV was smooth as silk.

Frankly, as a Fallout fan, I loved both games.  You can't go wrong with either, and I'd buy both.  There are some small gameplay mechanical differences between the two, but other than that, Kail has the right of it.  New Vegas has a bit more of the quirky humor of the originals, while Fallout 3 has a stronger overall story line (like the originals...).  Both games worked perfectly fine for me and never crashed once.  So, obviously the people of F13 just need to become better at building their systems.

Honestly, both. They're very different games in my opinion. Fallout 3 was, for me, a huge relief that it was good since I fully expected them to ruin the franchise, but I thought they revived it very successfully although with a lot less humour than the originals. I don't rate the DLC though, I think the game actually works better stand-alone.

NV was also good, but I don't think it would play as well if you hadn't played Fallout 3.

I enjoyed Fallout 3 more than New Vegas, which I never finished.  There were mechanics bits I thought NV improved on, but I just had much more fun wandering aimlessly in FO3.

If you're into free exploration from the start, I'd go with FO3.  If mechanics and a guided story are more your style, then NV.

NV. Mechanics and story are better, yet the exploration aspect is at least on par with FO3.

On the other hand, playing FO3 first allows you to appricate New Vegas dfferences even more...so...I dunno.

I didn't care much for 3 and never actually finished it (maybe 80% done). New Vegas is awesome and I'd go with that one.

But why choose? Play 3 then NV.

New Vegas is my favorite RPG since PS:T. F3 is still a damn good game, but I didn't find it as Fallout-y. So yeah, get both.

DLC-wise, the two most worth playing are the Pitt for F3 and Old World Blues for NV.

I loved NV.  It was fun, everything worked and it made me laugh.  Lots.

I'd skip all the DLC for F3 if you play it, and play Old World Blues as soon as is feasible in NV.
