Well, since 3 day passes are already sold out I think your chances of getting a pass in January are slim and none.

Have you tried the internet? It's made out of millions of people missing the point of everything and then getting angry about it

I'd feel bad for him if I hadn't had to pay $170 for my PAX Prime passes after those ones sold out in five hours.

I might be exhibiting there this year, dunno. Still talking about booth pricing and layout and all that jazz.

GDC Frisco is the day after this ends, and I am going there for sure, so the travel-time and arangements play into it as well. All the returning rental equipment, tear-down, blah blah blah.

Sure. Can try to get a bit extra than I normally do. Should have more one on one time with the industry folk during booth setup before the consumer hordes descend on us than I did at Gamescom. Germans. GERMANS EVERYWHERE. Madhouse.

Slayerik has first dips on LoL skins, he hooked me up with his PAX Jax and Siver codes for the EU way back when (codes can be used once in each region, or used to be, couple be different now)

But that shouldn't matter.  If I get some getting a handful shouldn't be an issue at all.

I just got my registration.  Now I need to see if I'll be able to go this year.  With the wife being pregnant and at 8 months when this is going on might be tough to do.

Unfortunately won't be able to attend this year. Going to GDC San Fransisco instead, which is a bit less of a fun event, but better for networking for me.

edit: hurr, already said I was going to GDC earlier

Yeah, very much worth taking your son to. Lots of great games and activities around, lots of cool people, they are mindful of the booth babe stigma so you won't find extreme examples of ladies with floss bikinis promoting Halo or something. Say what you will about the PA guys, they are self important as fuck, but they know how to put together an event for video games.

Once I realised they had a boardgame section the deal was sealed. The boy gets dumped off with all the flashing lights and I go get my old school on.

I've been hitting PAX Prime for the last five years. It's crazy, but worth it. One year I brought a friend who hates video games (motion sickness) but loves board games. He spent the entire weekend doing that. Entered tournies, play tested new games, met Steve Jackson, etc.

The Sony people are apparently doing a hangout in the hotel bar and dropping keys for their upcoming MMORPG-thing.  If anyone going could snag one for me, I'd be obliged!

I went. I was bored. But that's not about the show per se. They had more exhibit floor space than last year, more exhibitors, and probably more events if I cared enough to compare the schedules.

There just wasn't much in the way of new. PAX East 2011 for me was all about SWTOR. 2012 was all about AC3. Seeing how those both turned out, I'm not surprised that the hour I spent on line for Elder Scrolls Online was ultimately underwhelming.

Very little else was interesting to me. After the ESO line, I was almost tempted to stand on the Watch Dogs one, but I didn't want to be disappointed. And I certainly wasn't waiting for AC: Black Flag. There's also the table top and CCG stuff, but I haven't really ever cared about that.

Maybe I'm just buying too many goddamned games to be excited about seeing them at a show  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

Sorry man. Was only there for one day, couldn't even be arsed to stick around for the whole thing even though I was riding on an extra exhibiter badge, and even all that aside, nothing is less interesting to me than LoL  Ohhhhh, I see.

Admittedly though, had I mentioned I was going earlier you asked, I woulda set it as an objective. Woulda made it interesting smiley

From the general lack of hubbub, not much interesting is coming out of this one.  Sad.

The WotC panel sucked - except the next block was said to be a Roman-themed set, which makes my lady parts warm.

I was at least very happy that they're finally porting DotP to android.  Gonna be loading that up on my nexus 7.

Well this being my first convention I wasn't blown away. In fact a lot of it was kinda 'meh'....but that just maybe cause I'm old and grumpy. My 22 year old self wouldve loved it I'm sure.

Part of the problem was dragging around a 12 year old, I would've preferred actually to split up so I couldve indulged my inner geek in the board games section but he was suffering some big crowd phobia and wasn't leaving my side.

Elder Scrolls line was ridicolously long so we didn't bother. Same with Neverwinter. wtf is up with League of Legends? Was like a rock concert over there.

My favourite part mightve been when waiting in the iracing q some kids in front of us were talking with one of the crew (who was in his mid 50s) and asked if the game was on steam.
His reply:
'What's steam?'

Actually didn't bother with the Mechwarrior talk, was kinda conventioned out by that stage. Went and played Hawken again...(as a MWO player I feel a bit like a dirty slut this morning but it was fun!)

All those PAX League codes expire on Friday, so if you've got any more left, get rid of 'em.

(this isn't a hint, I already got mine)

Shit, I have those from last year's Gamescom. Those bastards need to come up with some new giveaways.
