Wasn't sure if I should put this in TV or Movies or "OH GOD YOU'RE RUINING EVERYTHING"...

Bravo Developing 'Heathers' Reboot, 4 More Scripted Dramas

Quote
The updated Heathers picks up 20 years later, with Veronica (played by Winona Ryder in the 1989 feature) returning home to Sherwood with her teenage daughter, who must contend with the next generation of mean girls -- the Ashleys, who are the daughters of the surviving Heathers.

Interesting idea.  I had to Google it, no pizza rolls for me.

At least the argument could be made that there have been so many changes in cinema technique and technology that it justified a remake (Star Trek).  How is a Heathers series going to be anything new?  Could just as easily be based on Mean Girls, or Jawbreaker, or Clueless, or....

Assuming the target audience is teenagers then Mean Girls makes a lot more sense than Heathers. Most teenagers won't have a clue what it is and the original audience is probably going to react a lot like we did.

I don't think Bravo is gunning for the teen market.

Well the blurb talks about the original character's daughter having to deal with the daughters of the original Heathers so I assumed it was aimed at that market.

Correct. Look at what is on Bravo.  They target a certain male demographic.

Would you possibly be referring to a "Fabulous" demographic?

If it were aimed at that market, the original character wouldn't be included.  The original demo (us) now has teenage kids and have to deal with things from the adult side vs the kid side.  We're meant to empathize with her.

Which feels even worse as a premise.

If you haven't seen the trailer for this, go seek it out now. It is truly a horror show.
