Really surprised by this.  I knew he was in hospital recently but didn't know it was this serious.  I enjoyed many of his movies, esp. The Green Mile.  Sad. Heartbreak

I thought he was taller than 6'4, too, since I'm 6'4 and he always looked a lot taller than me.  Not that he was a small man but I guess theres ways to make someone look like a giant on screen.

In real life your "camera" is up at 6'4", while in Hollywood it's usually somewhere nearer to the eye level of the rest of the cast... somewhere between 5'4" and 5'10". Somebody six to twelve inches taller than you would be a giant. Basically how tall he looks in film is how tall you look to everybody else in the world.

Plus they purposely made him look larger in some roles because it was part of the character he was playing. Camera tricks, small props, etc.
