What are the limits for uploading animated Avatars?  I tried doing one that is 644KB size 124 X 118 and I'm getting the error

Must be the poor taste filter catching it.  Have you tried disabling that?

I think there's a file size maximum on avatars built into SMF, something to do with the attachments settings (even though this forum doesn't do attachments per se, I think the same parameter is used for uploaded avatars).

There is but the above GIF is below that limit. it's also below the dimensions limits (140 x 140 is max). I forgot who it is who has it but there's that animated GIF of the two kids having a lightsaber duel that's larger in file size and larger in dimensions on the site currently.

Which is why I'm not sure what's going on yet.

It's less disturbing when you see the whole video and realize she's not disabled, just extremely lazy.

Karma does exist.

Or possibly she was crippled and the fall straightened her back.  Maybe she'll now take on Bane and win.

I saw more people on motor scooters at King's Island 2 weeks ago that were fat than those that were actually disabled.  My favorite was the 3 teenagers parking in the HC spot with their (I assume) grandmother's HC tag, though.

Too much bullshit PC-politeness behind handing out tags these days.  We cant tell them they're just fat so just give it to them.  Never mind that all the HC spaces at stores are taken by able-bodied people to the point I saw an ACTUAL HC person have to park up the aisle and crutch their way down to the store.

Don't get me started on that. My dad was an amputee and had a handicap parking tag. He first had the hang-from-mirror kind, then upgraded to the license plate once his cancer got worse and he was pretty much wheelchair bound.

My friends couldn't figure out why I wouldn't park in the handicap spot when I was borrowing his car. People fucking suck.

For some reason that reminds me of the mid-40s couple behind us in line for the ferris wheel on the Seattle docks (this was about two weeks ago).

They had a stroller with them, containing a large cat.  These two get to the counter and demand their cat be allowed on the ride, claiming it's a "service animal."

While I personally would have cheerfully enclosed them in a small glass-bottomed gondola and let them sit suspended 200' over the water with a frenzied critter, I have to applaud the management for saying "No."

(Although they could have said it louder and with more profanity)

Regarding the avatar size thing; I found that even when I sized my GIF at 140x140, it wasn't working.  Trying sizing it down to 130.  Also, what are you using to edit/recompile the GIF?

Some online editor. I'll try 130*130 when I get home

I never got that error when uploading an animated avatar but I did have a problem where it wouldn't animate unless it was under a certain size.

Thanks, this helped.  I got it to animate by reducing size.

The scooter thing is a LOT worse (and handing out HC tags is pretty bad), because the scooter companies and/or middlemen are scamming the shit out of medicare, which then chew up tax dollars, which raises taxes while taking tax money away from legit entities (like libraries).

What the fuck is a Service Animal ?
Animals (mostly dogs for the blind) that have been trained to assist disabled people.  The law requires service animals to be allowed into all public facilities, but doesn't set any standard for what a service animal is.

Service animal designation has been expanding rapidly here in the U.S. to include animals that "help" people with stuff like stress and anxiety just by being with them. I've run into the issue with respect to the Fair Housing Act which requires allowing service animals.

Is it possible we could work out a deal for a Service Panther? He would help me with being more awesome.

I'm not sure you guys would like an exotic animal as a "service pet" as they'd probably either eat you or trample you.
