I want a list of all the possible best of X, Y, and Z. So it's going to be this. This is relevant because I might have stumbled across 25,500,000 gold and I want relevant gear. So let's start the list. Someone tell me what to put under...
Witch Doctor: Set Items:
Legendary Items:

Um, that's hardly enough gold for just one piece of great gear.

Hmmmm, disagree. Since no one knew the answers off the top of their head. I started watching the AH for about, oh, 7 hours while doing things. Ended up getting Zunimassa's Boots, Vessel, Plague and Attunement. Getting a set of Wanderlust/Spirit of Adventure. Lost about 2k DPS but gained 1000 armor, 12,000HP, 1200 life per second, +20 mana regen, and 300 resist all. Also, that silly Endless Journey set had MF 50%+ on it for kicks.
I'm not grinding Inferno Whimsyshire here. I'm just trying to survive through the first 3 acts.
Edit: Will be grabbing Manajuma's Ritual Cutter/Prize in the next few days to bring my summon zombie charger down more, and my mana regen up further. Meh on there not being any items that reduce the cooldown of Big Bag Voodoo.
Edit 2: I feel like Witch Doctor has like 1% the popularity of other classes on the auction house. Maybe even less than Barbarian (but they get an actual good set of armor with a good set bonus at the end, meh).

Not to put too fine a point on internet nerd sensibilities but, the witch doctor is black. You would think that doesn't matter but just search the official forums for the outrage around "Tyrone" and be prepared to cry a little. e: Also, http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/item/#filter=witch-doctorAll in game items, including set and legendary filtered for Witch Doctor.

It's probably more that he talks funny and looks like he has parkinson's and a bad back.
But, I mean, the Paladin was black, and although I have absolutely no evidence or first-hand experience suggesting that a lot of people played him, I'm going to blindly assert that they totally did.

Indeed. The Paladin was badass.
The WD not so much.

I don't know, those WD Life on Hit, Rain of Toads Inferno Tank builds look pretty impressive.

I actually really like the WD, though it took me a while to get used to the weird pose and shit. Someone at Blizzard really fucking loves that hunched over pose for tribal dudes, and the whole tribal theme in general. See: Trolls.

WD is the only character class with anything remotely close to a likeable personality.

Putting this here, cause I think it fits best in this thread. From the new user's guide - Items and Equipment page, scroll down to Magic Find "Magic find affects the quality of items you acquire from killing enemies (but not treasure chests, vases, weapon racks, or other environmental objects). It doesn’t give you a chance to get more items on a given kill – instead, it increases the chance that an item you find will be magical, and more potent than it would be otherwise." :( I don't find Magic Find to be a fun stat.

That's slightly deceptive, as it is counting white items as "items you receive.". So it does increase the number of blue and above items you receive.
Edit: Oh, the fact that it doesn't affect breakables and (especially) chests does blow total ass, though, which may have been what you were sadfacing about.

At least it is more intuitive than Diablo 2's magic find.

It's pretty much the same, no? I could swear MF in D2 also didn't affect containers.

http://www.diablowiki.com/Magic_Find_(Diablo_II) To make a long story short, you didn't want to stack too high a MF in D2, I can't remember what the ideal range was now, it has been too long. But in any event, you wanted to be within that range to maximize your shot at uniques.

The breakpoints were different but it worked the same way in terms of: does not supply new items, simply improves the quality of those items that are already dropping. As the chart shows, though, the meaning of 'improve' was somewhat more complicated than expected.

Huge difference being: in D2 I could ignore MF and enjoy the game to max level (without an AH). In D3, yeah, not so much.
