Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh's divorce from third wife Marta has been signed and sealed in a Key West courthouse.
Circuit Judge Sandra Taylor issued the final judgment Dec. 21 and sealed the 22-page settlement agreement, according to Monroe County Circuit Court records. The couple did not have any children.
The former Mrs. Limbaugh will no longer be using the radio host's famous last name. A former aerobics instructor from Jacksonville, Marta had her maiden name of Maranda restored by the final judgment.
A Palm Beach resident, Limbaugh reportedly has been dating CNN anchor Daryn Kagan since August, and media speculation has run rampant as to whether the 42-year-old will become the fourth Mrs. Limbaugh.
Tony Knight, a Limbaugh spokesman, did not have any comment Monday.
Limbaugh owns a $24 million oceanfront compound on the island. His nationally syndicated radio program, The Rush Limbaugh Show, is heard on 600 stations by 20 million listeners. The show is broadcast daily from noon to 3 p.m. and is heard locally on WJNO 1290-AM. Limbaugh often broadcasts his show from his "southern command," a studio in a commercially zoned office building in Palm Beach.
Limbaugh, 54, announced to his radio audience in June that he and Marta, 45, his wife of 10 years, were getting a divorce. The announcement came eight months after the National Enquirer broke an Oct. 2003 front-page story on Limbaugh's addiction to prescription pain pills. The following week, Limbaugh admitted his addiction to his radio listeners and entered a month-long rehab program.
Limbaugh met the then-Marta Fitzgerald after she contacted him by e-mail in the early 1990s. She divorced husband Tom Fitzgerald in 1992 and married Limbaugh on May 27, 1994, in Virginia. In 1997, Marta Limbaugh launched a West Palm Beach-based magazine Vent, geared toward 18- to 24-year-olds. The magazine folded after three issues.
