We had over 1 million people register on Dec 20th.  While we trying our hardest to keep up with demand, if you think you can handle 1 million people hitting your server at the same time, be our guest.  Other wise, kindly fuck off.

Quote
Yesterday was quite a day here in Austin. We likely had the largest one-day subscription account registration process in MMO history – over one million people are now registered players of the game, and the number is growing rapidly.

As you might imagine, this presented a huge strain on our infrastructure and systems, but the good news is that we seem to be through the worst of it now thanks to folks working hard all day to serve our community. And as Greg mentioned in his earlier note, we've also been working hard on resolving queues – those being another side effect of the huge demand for Star Wars: The Old Republic over the past week. We were definitely anticipating a very high load but if anything the demand for the game has only exceeded our expectations!

We're very appreciative of your support and we look forward to surprising and delighting you throughout the journey ahead. To that end, we plan on letting you know soon about some cool upcoming content planned over the next few months.

On behalf of the SWTOR team, Greg and I want to thank you very much for your support, and also your patience yesterday as the team worked hard to process through the huge volume of players trying to register.

Thank you,

Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk

I added some drama.  I guess I need to work on that.   why so serious?

Marks Jacobs was pretty stoked about the early days of WAR so it wouldn't surprise if someone was silly enough to declare victory, but that's not how I read it either.

Luckton is doing a fine job of making it look like I'm not the most ridiculous Bioware fanboy on the forum at least.

every time I see "began in 2006" I'm reminded how a propos it is to say this is BC-era WoW. It's like they went into a vacuum for five years. I'm sure plenty of smart people there got into very many post-WoW MMOs. But I'm also sure that there were zillions of discussions about how they were on the right track because they didn't bother to take X feature or Y learning from all the didn't-crush-WoW MMOs. They wouldn't necessarily be wrong in all cases either.

They did a lot of things right, and they certainly deserve praise for many of the areas of the game.

But there are parts that are very dated, and I hope they get to them before the end of the second month when the real subs/retention part of the business hits.

I'm pretty sure he is a North Korean propagandist since he is so absurd and over the top.  Also, only one million registered users?

I just saw this article get some air-time on Morning Joe.  The business talking head says that's it's because of TOR that US productivity is down, and that he didn't even know that Star Wars was still a "thing".   awesome, for real

A million accounts, 5.5 million hours over Christmas weekend=5.5 hours/account. Good numbers, but not exactly going to affect the GDP.

If you can read this, you're on a board populated by misogynist assholes.
