That's pretty awful.  Whoever buys that is probably going to knock it all down and start over again.

Yeah it's a fugly building. The spiral slide into the pool next to the medieval shit decor is pretty  Facepalm

That being said, that 4ac piece of property is absolutely top notch.

Yeah, but you can dress that slide up to look like a dragon and have it fit right in.

The house is meh... I like nondescript looking things - but the interior is just a nightmare. Good fucking god what happened in there?

And no computer room/server room pics?

I think the picture of the spiral stairs is a secret passage. Also, it mentions that it is "Britannia ManorII ?" There is more than one?

Looks like that article needs some cleaning up. In the next section it starts talking about the 2nd Manor being built but it sounds like it's actually talking about the 3rd. I assume this must mean it's fully built now and he's selling #2.

I wonder when the open house will be. awesome, for real

They look like they might be vinyl-clad wood. That's what I suspect because the hardware you see is metal and most vinyl windows I've seen have vinyl latch housings as well.

It's a godawful house, though.

Why is he selling it? To fund more space "exploration"?

I just wish he could wipe my memory and release Ultima 7 again.

He's building another, bigger property. Why? I don't know. How much space does one crazy LARPer need?

He's probably saving up enough money so he can buy an abandoned animal reserve, invite over the remaining UO players, and hunt them for sport.

The large painting of Neuschwanstein in the kitchen made me chortle.

He does seem to have tastes similar to King Ludwig's.

According to Wikipedia he recently married. My guess is he wants a house that's more appropriate for real child rather than a manchild.

In 1997 the house was broken into by a deranged fan. Garriott held him off with an Uzi, firing a warning shot while waiting for police to arrive.

I'm baffled as to why he didn't use a sword to hold him off.

And people aren't primed to be afraid of swords.  You wave a sword at somebody, they're going to give you a dumb look but they're probably not going to be scared.  Put a bullet in the wall behind them, you've got their undivided attention.

Manchildren don't grow up unless forced.  If that's the case I'd go with it not being his own decision.

Are you saying this based on something that has been proven, or is it just an assumption you're making?  I would have guessed that most people would have a primal fear of anything sharp, much more naturally so than a gun.  Everyone can relate to getting cut.  Almost nobody can relate to being shot.

Not trying to troll you, was just curious if what you are stating is an actual known fact.

I'm not Dave, but in my experience with swords (even the live ones I use for martial arts), it's maybe 1 in 3 people tops who display any real concern when I've got them out.  The rest aren't bothered or make a crack about "bringing a knife to a gun fight."
