Lurkers suffer in silence.

Like Cub fans.

LOL!  Yeah, I live in the Chicago area now and have since '89 or so, but I grew up next to St. Louis, so they were my first sports teams.  I've finally told myself that since I've lived up here longer than I lived down by StL, it's all right for me to support Chicago teams.  So yeah, I'm a southsider even if I'm way out in the NW suburbs.

Some of the lurkers make it an extreme sport. 7 years lurking, 50+ days spent online in their stats and 1 post. I considered myself a lurker before with <50 posts/year but I don't even compare.

I'm very mysterious when I'm inside you.

Yeah, some idiot probably named himself after one of his random UO characters at Lum's pad in the late 90s and can't ever use it because it's always taken by a 13yr old girl everywhere on the Internets.

A lot of people enjoy usefully cynical commentary, not everyone is all that adept at providing it.. Hence, the lurking.

We should all get buttons so the lurkers can agree/disagree with our posts like some sort of internet gladiatorial match.

On second thought, that would end poorly.

Why just the lurkers?  Anyone who doesn't post in a thread, should be able to vote on it.  Instead of agree/disagree for each post, it'd simpler it just vote on who is winning the thread.

I think voting should be allowed in Politics.  I would go there more often just for that.

We should definitely look into virtual finger wiggling to indicate the general level of approval of an idea.
