So anyone else interested in this? I'm a fan of the LotR thing, as is my wife, it promises 3-player co-op, is out in a few weeks, looks nice enough. Snowblind Studios have put out some reasonably decent games in the ARPG genre (Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, EverQuest: Champions of Norrath) though those were quite a way in the past.

Feels like it could be quite good, or it could be the latest in the recent failures of the ARPG genre (Baldurs Gate 3, Hunted: Demon's Forge)

There's just something about LoTR. I enjoyed the books, the films were decent, but the canon just doesn't seem to offer quite the right sort of material for great games.

Their CM is answering questions over at NeoGAF in this thread: link.

Sounds awesome, but I don't know a single person getting it and it's geared entirely towards co-op. Makes me sad.

I've been pondering it. I have so much other stuff to play though that it probably waits for a sale.

This is kinda cool.

You can play split screen, connect up online or connect via LAN. There are really no limitations there. You can even play split screen while also having a 3rd player connected online. You certainly can play offline with bots, but everything we’ve built is about jumping into the game with your friends and playing together.

This makes the pricepoint much more manageable to get a coop game going.  I wonder if LAN games need separate copies though.
Also, console or PC?  What's the vibe?

All depends on their implementation of it on PC. I find the games that boast co-op always have connection issues or some other janky networking stuff.

I'm going to try and convince 2 other people to grab it for 360.

It's on the couples-game list.
