I couldn't find a thread on this. The Sean Bean topic reminded me of it.
I understand why movies like this don't have wide appeal and go straight to video, but it's pretty amazing. You don't need a trailer. Just know it's Sean Bean and the Plague.
I watched this back-to-back with another good film: Agora. With Rachel Weisz. It's about Hypatia of Alexandria. You'll want to see this too.
I'm a believer in some religous ideals, but both of these got me hating religion. Just think what it could do for you godless heathens.
As I said in the other thread I think the high level idea was good but the execution left a lot to be desired. The way things unfolded and the moralizing struck me as contrived, especially in the second half. Too many things happened to advance the plot in a way that stretched credulity.
I'm a big fan of movies the mix religion and horror but this didn't do it for me. I feel like it could have been great had the film taken a different direction once they reached the town.
vampirehipi23: I would enjoy a book written by a monkey and turned into a movie rather than this.
I found this while looking up info on 13 Assassins a few months ago (they both had the same stateside distributor, or something along those lines). The basis of the story is badass through and through. A lot of the camerawork didn't feel imaginative enough and I didn't feel like the writers went for the gold with the witch. I wanted to have my mind blown while things went off the deep end.
Still a cool movie and worth a watch on a day off.
Sean Bean is a ruthless mofo in this.
