Be sure to read up on the league's rules regarding skills.  You have a lot of leeway in skill selection, but there are still some standards that beastmen must meet when levelling up or a team could be invalidated.

League Rules

I used the official f13 rankings to arrange the calendar and was able to arrange the matches in such a way that no one plays each other twice.  Once we (hopefully) enter the second season I'll be using a different seeding method based only upon past performance within the Hooves & Horns matches.

Games that have been played in previous weeks

Gruntle I'm in the hell that is moving in a GMT +9 timezone.

I'll most likely lose internet this weekend so if we could play sometime this weekday or on the weekend that would be great.

Let me know times you're free and I'll stay up/wake up early for it  awesome, for real

Llyse/Catfud's Breaking Wind ran rip-shod over my Los Stupicabras to win 3-0.

I wish I had a cogent breakdown of the game; Lllyse received and scored in the first half, where I failed to capitalize on the lucky clock rollback chance to respond in time; for the second half Llyse's 4 KO'd guys got up to have a laugh at my pitiful defensive line whose holey nature allowed him to steal the ball away from me and score twice more. We did have a high kick event that landed directly on a goat (so no one was moved under it) and a stone-throwing riot that knocked down two on each side.

Sad to say no goats on either team leveled. Think the replay is up on BBManager for those so inclined.

Goat Variations 2 - 0 Green Bray Alpacas.

Lots of pushing and shoving. BBManager says the dice were about even as far as blocks thrown went, but my guys took injuries while Ruvaldt's goats bounced.

I actually managed to knock more of his guys down but I inflicted fewer injuries and, until the very end fewer KOs too. Ruvaldt's very first turn saw two Alpaca's stretchered off the field to the injury bay and it went downhill from there. I pulled it back a bit towards the end but I was down several goats on Ruvaldt's team for most of the match.

Nobody on my team levelled in this match so I still have a team composed entirely of rookies. At least all the injuries on my side were just Badly Hurt,

Goat Variations 2 - 0 Green Bray Alpacas

My very first round set the tenor of the game to follow after succeeding on all of my blocks and badly injuring two of the Alpacas, and succeeding on a ball pickup deep on my side of the pitch.  I set up a screen and put a few beastmen into position so that I could form a cage further down the field and over the next two turns made my way to the center of the field with a reasonable looking cage.  I was able to keep enough beastmen on the opposite side of the field as the ball-carrier as decoys, even sacrificing one of them to a surfing, so that I could keep some of the Alpacas away from my advancing cage.  On my fourth round I felt confident enough in a path that I had carved to run my ball carrier forward within a round of scoring, and only one covered Alpaca was within range of blitzing him, but after a successful dodge and block my ball carrier was knocked down and the ball was loose.  Things looked slightly grim for a round as the Goats were surrounded, but IainC had no beastmen within range of further covering the ball so I was able to blitz with my former ball carrier, pick up the ball again and score on my round 5.  The remainder of the half saw IainC getting a lot of good knockdowns on my beastmen but only one injury was inflicted and he failed to pick up the ball.  I attempted a breathtaking blitz into IainC's endzone, which could have potentially resulted in another score, but I had to use my reroll for that round on a pair of skull blocks and was unable to make a GFI roll to make the block.  The half ended with IainC attempting some Elven calibre BS, but was unable to pull it off.

The second half began with a one goat advantage on the side of the Goat Variations and both sides bashed with fervor.  IainC formed a cage on his second turn, but after a bad block turnover on his third turn I was able to put together a series of blocks and a blitz on the ball carrier, and the ball bouned into a scrum.  We duked it out in a scrum for two rounds and I put together a push into the ball hoping that it would bounce into the hands of one of my three beastmen surrouding the ball, which is subsequently did and I was able to run him to the corner of the field in the following turns as I ground down the clock.  We bashed each other a bit more, and IainC got another injury on me before I scored the second TD.

The game, which is up on BBManager thanks to IainC, was filled with knockdowns on both sides, and we were both very successful on that front.  The decisive factor was injury rolls.  Over the course of the match I managed to injure four Alpacas and KO, I think, 1.  By comparison, the Alpacas scored mostly stuns and injured three Goats, but one was at the end of the match and so it made little difference besides ruining that Goat's day and putting him out of the next game.  It was a brutal match, and as always IainC played a strong game, which I'm sure must have been frustrating given the lack of player skills and difficulty with injuries.

My Goat, Eyeball Kid, leveled and rolled doubles: I took dodge.

Sheep Go to Heaven 1 - Triptkyon 0

This game is worth watching the replay, if for no other reason than to see the crazy lopsided dice. Ingmar won the toss and decided to kick, putting a cracker of a kickoff right in my endzone. My blocking dice went great from the get go. Within 4 turns, I had 5 of his goats down, including 3 injuries (I'd end the game causing 4 injuries, though one was saved from Badly Hurt by the Apothecary). My pick up dice? They started horrible and got worse from there. For 6 turns I tried to pick up the ball and though I finally succeeded on turn 5, my next act was to attempt a 3+ pass a little further up the pitch. I figured with such open space thanks to injuries and player downs, I would waltz in for the TD. Catch failed. Ingmar's two goats who had survived to make it on my side of the pitch picked the ball up and despite being knocked down once and then surrounded after the 2nd pickup, one good dodge and it was a touchdown for Ingmar. 1 - 0. The next kickoff started a riot, giving me 1 extra turn in the half, but it wasn't enough with my goat AGAIN fucking up the pickup roll twice to end the half.

The second half I kicked off and got a blitz on the kick. I got a couple of goats close to the ball which was about to land on the sidelines. My blocking dice cooled off a little but I was still able to do some pushing and shoving. However, Ingmar surrounded the ball enough to pin it on the sidelines and after a lot of shoving I managed to knock one of his goats over into the ball, knocking it out of bounds. Of course, the throwback left the ball behind his guys and away from mine, making me have to fight for every attempt at the ball. Failed pickups on my part, successful pickups on his, the ball moves a little bit until I finally manage to knock over the ball carrier and secure the ball with a blitz. I hand off from the blitzer who was covered to an open man who wasn't open for long. More knockdowns, but I FINALLY get the ball free and clear and with an open guy in passing range who could catch the ball and waltz in untouched for a score. So of course, the pass failed and my last turn saw me fuck up a 1D block to free some blitzers and fall on my ass as the first act of the turn. Game over, 1-0 to Ingmar.

Seriously, watch the replay. It's goddamn hilarious.

EDIT: And to add insult to injury, even with all the injuries I inflicted, not one damn beastman leveled again. I have like 4 guys sitting on 5 points. AARG.

This was very much a case of Ingmar makes his d6 rolls, Haemish makes his block rolls. d6s win!

Having inflicted, I think, seven injuries and two touchdowns, plus two mvps, I have one beastman at level 2.  I'm a little better off, but I know the feeling, regardless.  I intend on running this sub-league for as long as people want to play though so, potentially, long-term team development can pay off.

Edit: Also, two matches remain:
Lovers, Fighters (Lamaros) vs. Mad Goat Disease (Strazos)
Malevolent Mammals (Proudft) vs. Waitsing (Avaia)

Four days left for these two last matches.  I imagine hurricane Irene put a damper on Strazos playing so if that takes longer I certainly understand.

Strazos and I played our game. It was a case of one set of armor working and the other failing, with the Lovers bashing early to set up a player advantage that they never let go of.

Ran out 2-1 winners in the end. One dead on both sides, some other injuries (4 casualties each I think, nothing serious apart from the deaths).

I leveled up another two players, Block and MB were given again.

Lamaros and I played.

2-1 win to him, though the game really fell apart in the second half for me, as he opened the second half with 4 or 5 straight armor breaks. I was down to half-strength in short order, and with the game tied 1-1 I pretty much lost by about turn 10. Between the inability to absorb hits and about 6 failed GFIs, the game was never really in doubt once we got to the second half.

2 goats out next game, and replaced one which was killed during the game. No skillups to speak of.

I put the game on BB manager.

29 armor rolls for Strazos
37 for me.

7 breaks for him.
17 for me.

Straz shaded me a little in some other dice (better block and D6 dice, supposedly - and you actually made 25/28 GFIs), but the armor rolls made it pretty easy for me.

my goats 2, proudft's goats 1.  I got ahead on numbers early and then tried to choke it away with kickoff experimentation.  Turn 16 TD saves the day.

Turn 16 TDs are always exciting.

I'll be starting Day Three on September 1st with a new post.  Lamaros and Llyse are leading the pack at the moment but with four days left it is still anyone's to win or lose.  Feel free to begin organizing your games as they should be displayed in the first post of the thread.

Oh, boy...I get to play Lamaros.

What a good time to play you! You have about 4+ players that could probably level up in a single game, but for the moment I have an advantage of four skilled players to one!
