The alien invasion movie nobody has heard of but should have: TrailerFrom the producers of SHAUN OF THE DEAD and SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD comes ATTACK THE BLOCK, a fast funny, frightening action adventure movie that pits a teen gang against an invasion of savage alien monsters. It turns a London housing estate into a sci-fi playground. A tower block into a fortress under siege. And teenage street kids into heroes. It's inner city versus outer space. Why You've Heard of "Cowboys & Aliens" and Not "Attack the Block"

Heard of both. Saw both. Like both.

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something. We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

It's a UK flick that's now just being screened in the U.S. I found screenings for the DMV area using gofobo.com. Usually a few per week. If you live in a redstate, you're shit outta luck typically, but you might find an oddball theatre that's playing it using google.

The alien invasion movie nobody OUTSIDE THE UK has heard of but should have:
The main reason you stateside folk probably won't ever get to see this on a big screen is because the numbers don't add up. It didn't make that much in the UK (£2.5m after one month on a £9m budget - compare to Shaun of the Dead's £6.5m after one month on a £4m budget), it's extremely UK centric and while it's alien invasion, it's also a mashup with an urban UK movie along the lines of Kidulthood, Adulthood, 4-3-2-1 and similar which didn't even get US releases. Plus Joe Cornish is not a recognised name much outside of the UK - or even in the UK outside a certain geek/90s student demographic.

Welp, it's being screened pretty heavily in the d.c. market and I'm going to see it on Wed. night instead of seeing "Love" (which looks to be fuckin awesome btw). Will report after.
