So a few hours after tweeting a picture of him and some buddies drinking (presumably), Ryan Dunn, famous for sticking a toy car up his arse, dies in a flaming car wreck after wrapping his Porsche around a tree.

NBC News shows what's left the car. (Hint: not much.)

Perhaps he was merely trying to insert the Porsche into his rectum?

Most of my younger friends thought I looked like him. I used to drink and drive A LOT back in the day, and was lucky enough until I got smarter. Didn't drive a porsche, though...

May have been someone doing a fake picture.

Vertigo and trying to do five things at once led to me not analyzing it.  Given I didn't know who he was, and it was the first news I saw on the subject, things didn't click.

Yeah this isn't looking fake, especially when they have an interview with April and Phil Margera talking about it.

If so this really sucks, I actually just watched Jackass 3.5 last night.  Dunn was probably my favorite out of the Jackass crew as well.

Who the fuck cares about Dunn -- he was a fucking idiot. Sadly he killed his passenger too, who hasn't been identified yet.

 ACK!

That was a horrible wreck just based on this part.

My dad had a Porsche and those things aren't exactly made to take impacts very well.  Dunn was going 110 and lost control into the woods and then the car caught fire.  That doesn't leave much to look at.

Uh okay, I didn't word that well. The identity of the passenger hasn't been released yet. I don't know if that's because they can't identify the remains or his or her family hasn't been notified yet.

Not altogether unsurprising that one of that crew has died young from stupidity/recklessness. I always thought that Stave-O would be the first to go, but there's something to be said about alchohol, and travelling around at excessively high speeds in a metal box...

Wow... I really don't care two ways about Ebert, but I find the fact that these people who have prided themselves out of doing stupid, self-injurious behavior are now so appalled by a remark by a movie critic. I don't want to take away from the tragedy in any way, but really...this runs kinda parallel with that Tosh bit about hardcore gangsta rappers whining about music sharing being stealing.

This. I liked the Jackass shenanigans as much as the next guy but the fuckhead got in a super-fast car with someone, was clearly drinking beforehand and instead of having the decency to only kill HIMSELF with stupidity, managed to take someone else with him, albeit someone not smart enough to take this dude's keys from him before he got in the car.

Yes, if you do something stupid and die, god forbid someone tries to point out a life lesson to others. Tell you what, if I end up dead because I try to jump Springfield Gorge, feel free to tweet that skateboards and canyons don't mix.

There are some people I can understand getting uppity after someone makes a somewhat poor taste joke/comment after a friend's death. The Jackass guys doing so however just makes me actually feel good that Ebert made the comment. He's not hurting Dunn anymore than Dunn has managed to harm himself and one other, so all he's doing is outrage a bunch of guys that have made themselves famous doing things that amuse many and outrage some and I doubt they felt too bad about the fact there were lots of people who were outraged at their shenanigans.

Man using shenanigans in that context makes me feel all Get off my lawn!

never understood why Ebert didn't have the good grace to retire.  He's one "expert" I got tired of hearing about years ago.  Need for money or ego is keeping him going I guess.

Although I don't always agree with them, I still find his reviews to be much better than most.
