I suck terribly at FPS/Shooters, but I'm bored with everything I'm playing right now and want something different. I need something less team-based and more "jump into a premade because I'm terrible".
Of the last 2-3 years, what are the quintessential MP shooters for either PS3 (preferable) or PC that still have active MP?

Either Battlefield Bad Company 2 or Team Fortress 2.

Even as a team-based shooter, TF2 is surprisingly good for lone wolf play.

Hard to go wrong with TF2. Battlefield 3 and COD:MW3 are both coming fairly soonish.
You could also go with something like Brink, although I would say go TF2 over Brink.
On the PS3 I believe Call of Duty: Black Ops is the shooter of choice.

if you want something slower because you are bad, you could try Mount & Blade: Warband. Not saying it's easy, especially manual parrying if you wanna be more of a finesse fighter, but you can be pretty effective by brute forcing it with a good shield or range weapons even if you suck at parrying.

Tf2 is probably your best bet.
