It's every bit as severe and inexplicable to others as the Wikipedia article describes. I don't have the things that it is "sometimes a symptom of", I just have AP on its own. Standard case, where turning up the hot water at the end of the shower reduces the itch, etc. From online discussions with other people who have this, I think the outliers like "doesn't work for some people" and "it's sometimes a symptom of" are actually because those people have something else, not AP. The rest of us describe exactly the same set of triggers and responses.
A bow tie-wearing dermatologist once pranced around his office as if he'd struck gold when I described this. He was going to make his name by testing and curing me. It wasn't about me, it was about him. I never went back.
There was some fussing about wifi in our town recently, apparently. I sort of wonder how much of it is just some sort of manifestation of worrying about how close it is to just being renamed Googletown, though.
