I'm severely acrophobic, and just looking at concepts for this thing makes me ill. Ignore the awful music and flash. http://www.insanityride.com/Jesus.

You would actually have to shoot me in the legs and drag me onto that to actually ride it. I hate eXtreme thrillseekers.

The best part of SWG was the easy account cancellation process.
|
So, it's the standard 'seats hanging from cables' spinny ride... only it turns to hang you off the side of a very tall building first?
I agree, that's pretty insane.

I'd advise anyone who is crazy enough to want to do it, do it as soon as possible. Because once the first person plummets to their death, you know they'll shut it down forever.

That would quite possibly be one of the worst deaths ever. Not really the pain, but the terror, and the aftermath if it hits a hotel or casino.

It would be one of the best ways to die, ever.
The thrill of the ride could only be topped knowing that something broke and you are going to die as your body is flung over Las Vegas.
The only drawback would be missing the CSI episode that would follow.

If that happens, try to go limp. People below might think you're a dummy and try to catch you because, hey, free dummy. (Thank you, Jack Handey) Oh, and bring a camera. It'd be a view to die for. My opinion: Eh, I heard about this a little over a week ago (I was actually taking a couple days vacation in Vegas) and thought it'd be a roller coaster. To see that that's all it is makes it not SO bad. I still wouldn't do it, but I could be pressured into it by my damnable masculinity. God, why must I be so manly? (This is really funnier if you know me in person.)

I call humbug!
They don't use the height fo9r anything else than a sense of "scary". Why don't make a ride, that actually uses the extreme height? This is just a carrousel in a somewhat scary location - what's next, lava?

I can watch autopsies all damn day, but watching someone's parachute not open (or whatever the hell happened there) and then watching and listening to them crawl around in bloody shock on the ground is just... not right... As to the Insanity Ride, it sounds like a lot of fun. Will have to try it this year when I'm out ni Vegas.

Can someone please tell me what the fuck I'm looking at here? Aside from the obvious (dude whose chute fucks up and crashes hard at base of dam). What's that red thing a few feet away? A piece of himself? Or someone else? Or a piece of someone else? Regardless, not what I needed to see at 7:00 o'clock this morning -- or ever for that matter. I would hope that linking to that kind of shit on these boards would be against the rules -- regardless of whether or not the poster includes a disclaimer/warning.

I thought it was some sort of spoof thingy, but I can't sort out what the spoof is. I assume that the grunting man with the boo boo hand is tryhing to pick up the red blob in the background?

That's no spoof. And I'd say it was more than a boo boo hand. More likely severely broken bones. Sounds like his face didn't fare so well either and/or he's grunting because his teeth have been smashed out. The blood on the hands is probably from touching the other wounds.
As for the red blob, I have no idea. I didn't catch it the first time, and I don't want to watch again.

I really did think it was a spoof which is why it didn't bother me. Now it does. No more of these videos that land with a meaty crunch for me! Please warn me next time so I don't look!

Ok, I have a pretty strong stomach, and now I'm quite nauseous thanks to the base jump video. Do that shit again and I will ban you my-goddamn-self. That's not fucking funny.
Also, that ride this fucking thread was about looks like a yakomatic.

Actually, I dunno, the video didn't really bother me. In fact, I wasn't quite sure if the second-half wasn't fake; the first part seemed real enough but after he hits the side and goes sliding down I felt the impact was unconvincing. He didn't really go "crunch" at all, but that could be the recorder's sound cutting out. And while his screams of pain sounded okay, you didn't really see what his injuries were; he just stumbled around on the rocks with blood on his hand.
Of course, this doesn't mean it wasn't real. But in contrast, I've seen guys in movies walking around with missing limbs and compound fractures poking through their skin. This didn't really bother me, even if it was totally real.

No no no. If you fall from a great height onto rocks, you either get a "PTWANG" and make a hole in the ground shaped like your body or a "THUMFFT" and create a perfect circle of dust.

Aw, I suddenly got this sad sort of "Hey kid, don't feed the crocodiles" childhood zoo flashback. Damn you! How long till this thread is locked, anyway? p.s.--As per topic, I blew $16 to ride the pathetic rollercoaster at New York New York in Vegas... I'll never waste my money on another ride in that town.
