Season #3 is over! 32 teams played more than 100 matches over 3 months. Blood has been spilled and bones have been cracked. As a result, we have a new champion, a very experienced Blood Bowl Coach while at the same time a spelling mongrel and an f13 noob who managed to snag the title despite having the WORST team in the whole league, mesmerizing Nuffle when it counted and proving that, in the long run, enough skill can tame the double-skulled beast.

With such a succesful run Season #4 was only a matter of time, so here we are again! Go get your copy of Blood Bowl Legendary Edition on Steam if you don't own it already (now only 9.99$/€/£) and join us by posting here and by saying hello in the appropriate subforum.

Previous Editions Winners.

Season #1 - Aez's Fraggers (Skaven)
Season #2 - Comstar's F13 Catfighters (Amazons)
Season #3 - AndyDavo's Wishmasters Wildcards (Dark Elves)

Now, enough self celebrating, let's move on with Season #4!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

** f13 Blood Bowl League, Season #4 **

Start date is April 22nd, 2011. Signup closes April 19th.

How is this gonna work?

- Depending on the number of teams, we'll make one or two divisions with 4 to 8 teams play-offs.
- Each team will have to play at least one match every 9 days. If ALL matches for one "game day" has been played, the League will advance to the next "game day" and the 9 days counter will be reset.
- Every Coach has to be a member of the ** f13 Bloodbowlers Steam Group ** in order to be able to participate in the League. If you are interested in joining the League please make sure to post here AND in the Steam Group, so I know who you are and that you fucking mean it.
- Every coach has to share a personal email address with all the other members of the League. Last year we tried with PM on this boards and Steam Group ones, it's not enough. If you are not willing to commit at least one of your precious email addresses to the League, then you are certainly not gonna take it seriously enough to ensure everyone's fun.
- Fixtures will be released before the League starts. Coaches have 9 days to try and set up an appointment with each other to play their match. If a match has not been played after 9 days, the League Manager will decide, after hearing both coaches, on an official result for that match, and will then advance the League to the next "game day".

What do I have to do to sign up?

- You have to post your intention in this very thread.
- You have to have a copy of >>Blood Bowl Legendary Edition.<< Sorry, no Regular or Dark elves Edition.
- For new coaches. When you create your online multiplayer Blood Bowl account in game, use the same name you have here on f13 if you can.
- You have to join the ** f13 Bloodbowlers Steam Group **. If you can, have your Steam name match your f13 name.
- You have to send me a PM with a valid email address. You will be sent an invitation mail there. You are supposed to reply to confirm you actually have access to said email address.
- All of the above are mandatory.

- EVERYONE can join, as long as you are from f13, meaning you have an account here. You can even make an account just for that but if you prove to be an imbecile before the League starts you'll be booted. You can invite friends from the outer world if you feel like it and as long as they are not complete muppets. They still have to join f13 and post here. Being new is not a problem, but this League works on participation, and just the right amount of trashtalk and cynical fairness. If you or your friends are not really forum people at all, maybe they can find a better League somewhere else.

What should I expect from you?

- I'll keep updating this thread with League results, recaps, tables and pictures.
- I'll do my best to help you communicate with each other.
- I'll make sure the League won't die on some of you lazyasses.
- I'm putting up a final price for the winner, in the form of a 20 USD/15 GBP/17 EUR (depending on your location) Gift Certificate on Steam. It's my pleasure.

And what do you expect from me?

- To be fair.
- To keep in mind that other people's fun is up to you too.
- To try and do your best to communicate with your weekly opponent and be reasonable when it comes to setting up the time and date for a match.
- To keep reading this thread and participate in the collective chaos of badmouthing everyone but yourself.
- To make sure that the winner of the game instantly uploads his/her replay to BBManager, or in case of a tie you agree on who's gonna do it. When in doubt, you both upload it. This will save me a lot of work, and will take you only a few seconds.

Actually, that seems lots of work on my part.

- Whatever.
- And not really.

When is this starting?

- About 2 weeks from now. You have all the time in the world to get your copy or receive your package if you purchased the boxed version. Start date is April 22nd, 2011. Signup closes April 19th.

I don't know man, I suck at this game and I hate to lose.

- Fuck you.

What are the specific League rules?

- You can only join with a team that:
           - Has only ever played in the f13 Main League.
           - Has participated in the f13 Feeder League and at the moment of joining the S#4 League has a maximum of 1250TV and 0 gold.
           - You just created, and has a total of 0 matches ever played.

- Turns are 2 minutes. TWO minutes. So practice with that or you'll get burned and pissed once the League starts.
- Fouling out of frustration in turn 16 is not griefing, it's allowed, and you should stop crying now.

Why are you doing this, Falc?

- Leagues are the best part of Blood Bowl. If you haven't participated in one you have no idea how awesome it can be. I used to enjoy the Table Top version about 20 years ago, and this is so much better. Get the game, you'll thank me.

Who is already in? I'm only joining if the cool kids around here joined too, you know...

I just bought this last night since steam had it for like 75% off or something.  I'll probably join you guys but I want to play it solo a couple of times first to figure it out.

Also, I now have a personal TeamSpeak 3 server. I don't think many around here use TeamSpeak at all, I always read about Ventrilo or Mumble, but it's there so if coaches want to smacktalk during the match, the option is there, easy and free (details when the League starts).

For me, sound quality was much better using the f13 TS3 server.

To echo what lamaros said, nothing against the f13 newbs (except you know who, hah), the best part was playing against f13 folks. It's really the only reason I like the game. It means more when someone we've known for years wins the title, as opposed to some random internet person.

That is so true, Sky. But to be fair, I asked AndyDavo to basically queue up as a filler since we were aiming at 32 teams. When it was clear that we were 1 f13 person short, I asked him if he was still interested, and he helped us again (he provided a dummy team to even up our numbers in Season #2 too).

Anyway, noobs welcome:

Falc,

Please ensure Sky and Andy are drawn in the same group again.

Thanks.

Has participated in the f13 Feeder League and at the moment of joining the S#4 League has a maximum of 1250TV and 0 gold.

People who are new to bloodbowl should really try to take advantage of this. You can arrange preseason games in the feeder league by posting in the blood bowl subforum. Having run a few matches vs real players to work out the UI and basic game rule kinks will make the weekly league matches a lot more fun.

Also, Falc doesn't mention this as it should be obvious, but we're playing "classic".

I'm down for another season.  Not sure if I want to use my S3 Undead team or the skaven team I played in the feeder league.

I'm shooting to double my elf kill on Haemmy's team this season: 4 nancy-boys going down!

Wait...that didn't come out right.

I signed up in the other thread but I'll add my name here as well. Can teams from the previous season be carried across or are there TV and cash limits as for the feeder league?

I'd join up but worry about match times and being able to play my assigned matches.  With folks on odd coasts/ continents weekends might be the only viable time for me. That work?

We've had a lot of weird schedule people manage things, so it is probably fine.

 awesome, for real

Really the worst case scenario is you absolutely can't make a game in time and none of your players get killed that week, right?

Yeah, the time zone thing is not usually such a big deal. I mean, we have Comstar from Australia playing, and I've managed to schedule two games with him in two separate leagues without too much trouble and I'm in the Central time zone like Merusk. I think we ended up playing both games on the weekend.

There are at least 6 people who have either recently bought this or bought it a while back and have admitted that they like it, but who haven't signed up for the league. idk, presumably you hate fun? Why do you hate fun?

Anyway, we now have 35 signups which is a useless number, and Falconeer may be about to have a stroke over this all because you useless fun hating fucks haven't signed up.

One more person takes us to 36 which I am given to understand would be all sunshine, rainbows and lollipops. (3 or 5 more people, also cool)

For those not reading the subforum (dammit, it's in the OP, isn't it?), the League and myself are all but dead. In fact, this year we topped our record with 36 appliants. Season #4 is such a success that we are going to run a Qualification Round! for newcomers to see who is gonna make it into the final pool of 32.

 awesome, for real

If you are interested in joining Season #5 (September 2011) you better pre-sign up now.
