Once you get these damn mandatory activity introductions out of the way, the game gets better cutscene wise.

The last mission is pretty damn epic.
Which one, the actual assault or the one that leads to that final decision? Latter was fucking ridiculous. In a bad way.

EVE (inactive): Deakin Frost -- APB (fukken dead): Kayleigh (on Patriot).

Playing Co-op with Bzalthek. This game is hilarious when you add someone else to the mix. It was awesome going for our first drive and within 30 seconds I miss a turn and dump us right into the river.

Protip, when playing co-op and you are on the mission to drive the customer around while he gets off.... one drives while the other "pleasures" the customer.  Nix happened to be driving.  I feel so dirty.

He's leaving out the best part. Due to a bug we had to sink the car and retry the mission. He got to fellate two times!

I thought the gameplay wasn't as good as SR2, but the set pieces were fucking fantastic.

The use of music in the turning point missions was dead on.

Just got the game last night and while I am only 45 minutes into it, I am enjoying the hell out of it. I wholeheartedly agree that the driving in this game is beautifully done, and even the motorcycles are a blast to ride, albeit a touch over sensitive.

So it finally arrived today. I installed, and...

Um, how do I activate my DLC codes? I see no option to do this in Steam, and the "Downloadable Content" option on the in-game menu is inactive.

EDIT: NM. Googled the answer (which was "go to an obscure Steam menu option I've never used").

So, Nix and I finished the campaign in co-op.  I dunno, the missions seemed a lot more tame and gimmicky compared to 2.

I am relatively surprised in a very good way at the music selections on the car stereo. I have a nasty habit of collecting cars in this game and cruising back to my garage and hearing Sleigh Bells come on the speakers was beautiful... followed by Kanye? Sweet goodness...

edit: Spending time on the vehicle theft list, I listened to a lot more of the radio stations... About fell outta my chair when RUN-DMC played. Tone Loc was nice touch as well. Musical compliment to this game is very well done.

Beat this game last night. I only played SR1 and SR2 briefly, never for more than an hour or two tops.

This game is fucking amazing in all the right ways. Stupidly crazy.

For some reason I had a feeling Sleigh Bells would make it into the game, though Riot Rhythm wouldn't have been my first choice.  I'm sad nothing off the new Crystal Castles made it this time, though.  Baptism or Pap Smear would have worked really well.

Over and out.

I now want a VTOL in RL.  DRILLING AND MANLINESS

edit: just finished out the missions on my first run through. I still have an ass load of stuff to do, but the story was pretty good and some of those missions' cut scenes were hilarious. The dialog during them was outstanding. Now to download my other avatar and start a new game and pace myself. Oh and Burt Reynolds was a nice touch... (not spoilering since it is in multiple vids and write ups already.)

If you're interested in completing the challenges, be sure to taunt gang members x 50 before you have 100% control of Steelport.  I made that mistake and can't find non-hostile gang members anymore to complete.  Urg.

Does co-op work the same way that it did in SR2? You can complete the game 100% but just jump into another person's game and run it with them and/or choose from the mission list to rerun stuff?

Well I finally got 100% on my single player campaign, all challenges, assassinations, chop shops done.  While perhaps not as brutal as SR2 I have to say this is the most compelling and satisfying game I've played to date.  I absolutely hate the mute protagonist I'm forced to play in other games, and those with dialogue is usually angst ridden.  In SR3 your character has... character!  And bad ass character at that.  When faced with seemingly insurmountable odds, your character says "Fuck you.  I'm going to rip your balls off!"  And then you proceed to do just that,  God damn that feels good.

The presence of a FemShep (Jennifer Hale) voice option caused me to override my natural inclination to choose the drunken Russian voice.

Huh, considering my over the top FemShep fanboism, I'm rather mad at myself for not realizing who it was. I did pick that voice anyways - must have been subliminal.

Laura Bailey, Tara Platt, and Rebecca Sanabria are the VA's listed for the three player female voices in the credits.

On a tangentially related note, I very much preferred the person that did Shaundi in SR2 than in SR3.  I suppose it didn't help that the character became kind of a bitch, too.

No kidding - I hear that that's the result of the VA wanting to focus on other work, but who knows.  Either way, it sucks - that character was awesome.
